Date Created automation to set Start Date on task or in Custom Item Type
Ideally, when we have a Support Request come in via customer form, the Start Date would be automatically set to the same as the Created Date. There is no automation for this simple thing. We are using a work around asking our customers to select "Today's Date" on the form, which seems a bit ridiculous to ask on a Support Request form.
This could be easily solved with an automation.

Being able to have the start date set to the issue creation date by default (but allowing it to be changed) would be a great help.

I agree this would be a very useful feature. It could be an option in the Request Form "Reschedule" area to set the first task's start date to "today".

Going to bump this request. Would be a HUGE help for us.
I am designing an entire multi-national company's control systems and this would help their technical department ( mine ) to measure time to delivery more streamlined for data collection.
For now, I am manually assigning Start Date.
This is just what I was looking for! I have developed a Support space for tasks by form submission, and ideally when we change the status of a request from Not Started to In Progress (or any desired status), it would kick off the start date. Even if we could play with automations to set these would be great! Currently no option to do that either.

This would be a huge!!!! help with creating project schedule. Would work great under the automated rules on custom item types.
