Sharepoint file attachement - selection of files difficult
Hi,
we are using the possibility to attache Sharepoint files to tasks very often. Unfortunately the procedure has a big disadvantage. When I want to attach a file I can enter a filename into the search. It gives me then folders and files containing this string.
1. it is not clear in which order the results are displayed. For sure it is not the best match of the search. So please make the order of result apperance by best fit to search string.
2. if I have several files or folders with same name in my Sharepoint environemnet I can not judge which one is the correct. It would be very much helpful to get the path to the file / folder when putting the mouse over the file / folder. Without the search is useless. See screenshot: which folder with name test should I choose?
3. The search is "stupid". You made search in Wrike intelligent (using the AND, OR, ...). Please make this also with the search in the Sharepoint part, so one could enter a search like "File XXXX in Folder YYYY) where XXXX and YYYY could be parts of the names.
4. Please make it possible, that I post a link to a Sharepoint file. I know I can make a link to a Sharepoint file via the link in the task. But then Wrike does not recognize the file as a SHarepoint file, but as a normal link.
Hi Sven Passinger, thank you so much for the feedback. As always I'm sharing it with the relevant Product team👍🏼
I noticed a quirk in attaching SharePoint files to Wrike on our Office 365: If (from the Wrike attach file interface) I go down through the SharePoint folder hierarchy on a particular SharePoint site, I get to a folder that claims to be empty, though I knw it contains the doc I'm looking for or a subfolder that contains the doc. Only if I put the name of the file I want into the search window can I get to the doc I want. This seems to apply whether I filter by "all" or what I follow.
Is this way it is supposed to work?
Hi David Haney, welcome to the Community, and thank you for reaching out. I've raised a ticket for you and I see that my colleagues are already in touch via email🙋🏻♀️
Is it possible to drag and drop a file from within a Wrike Task into a SharePoint folder? Thanks, Jack.
Hi Jack Jackson, it's not possible to drag and drop a file from Wrike, if you'd like to suggest this as a feature please create a new post under the Product Feedback forum.
I echo what Sven wrote, I am very happy that the integration exists, but it could be way better.
For example, the search is randomly successful. I uploaded a file to SharePoint, I had the exact name of the file, but when I searched for the file no results found, but then if I navigated to the folder where it was, the file was there. Then, I had another file and when I searched for it, it was there in the search results.
Further, I think being able to view the files/folders in a table view vs. icon only view, would be better (at least be able to toggle between). It would solve Sven's problem of files/folders that are named similarly. If there was a column that showed the path of the file/folder, that'd make it easier to identify the desired file.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback in detail Aaron Higgins, passing it on to our team now🙋🏻♀️
