Automated Project Card End Date Based on Milestone
Hi there!
We use our project cards to pull dates for a lot of reporting and calendar views. The way that our blueprints are built out is that the project card will take the date of the first task and have that as the start date, and then take the date of the milestone and that will be the end date. I have noticed if we shift the date of the milestone on the project, the tasks and dependencies will shift, but the end date on the project card will stay the same as it was when the project was first built out.
Is there a way to automate this so that when the milestone of the project changes, the end date on the project card will as well?
Thanks!
Hi Samantha Johnson, welcome to the Community 👋 Nice to have you here!
It's possible to enable automated projects' dates rollup on Business and higher accounts. Please check out the details in this Help Center post and let me know if that helps or if you have any questions.

Hi Lisa!
Thank you for sending that information along! My team currently has an Enterprise level account, so we do have the capability to enable project dates rollup.
This almost did the trick for us! Super helpful that whenever the start and finish date for those first and last tasks changed, so did the project card, however, is there anyway that the rollup feature could grab from the milestone as the last date? We have some "floater" reporting tasks that are assigned out after a project has launched, so we really measure project completion based on launch date (milestone), not the reporting task. So basically, could we edit the "project dates rollup" feature to label different tasks as the start and end dates of the project?
Let me know if that makes sense!
Thanks!
Thank you for getting back to me Samantha Johnson! I'm happy to hear that the current functionality helps at least a little. I will pass on your feedback to our Product team and let you know if I have an update from them.
