Inbox Messages

From time to time I have messages in my inbox that, for whatever reason, I choose to leave in my inbox rather than archive them.  As new messages appear, of course, the older messages move down the list.  If someone mentions me in a comment, there is no notification that I have a new message.  Therefore, I miss the message which is important. It would be helpful if there was a notification made and the message moved back to the top each time I am mentioned.  Our team members have experienced the same problem.  Having to go look to see if you have a new message doesn't seem logical.
