[From Wrike] Wrike Use Case Templates - Important Changes โ๏ธ
Hi there! ๐
Today, weโd like to announce some changes in relation to accessing our Use Case Templates (previously known as onboarding templates). As you may know (especially if youโve been following our Templates series ๐), previously, these templates could be accessed by Wrike account admins through Wrike Assistant.
We have changed this approach recently, and now, Wrikeโs Use Case templates are available in the Space creation dialogue. In short, to use such a template, start creating a Wrike Space how you usually would and youโll see the option to create this space from a pre-made Wrike Use Case template:ย
You will also be able to create a blank space as usual. For this, click on โCreate blankโ.
๐We now call these templates โUse Case Templatesโ, and you can find the article on the Help Center about them under that name.
๐The important change here is that now, not only account owners and admins can use the use case templates, but also those users who have the right to create spaces.ย
๐Also, these templates are now available on all types of accounts, including Free. Depending on the user role in the account and the account type users might see a different set of use case templates in the same account.
What else?
Weโre also very happy to announce that our team has recently added more use case templates to the gallery ๐ฅณ

Thanks!
I really like Use case templates but my problem is that they create a whole lot of objects (custom fields, forms etc...) accessible to everybody, therefore "polluting" our existing setup.
Is this fixed so I can create a Use case space and try it without impacting others?
Hi Alexandre BRUN, thank you for your question.ย
When you create a template, you'll have two options either to keep it private and invitation-only or a public space. About custom fields, there is an option to keep them space level which will avoid cluttering the whole account.ย
I recommend trying as a private space with a few members first and extending to the account according to your needs. Please let me know if you have any other questions ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ
Piggy backing on the question about custom fields above - I'm still having issues with space Dashboards showing up for my entire team. Will they become Space-specific like Custom Fields. I'd love to use these Use Case Templates, but I'm also worried about "pollution"
NOTE: Most of our spaces are at least "Read only" for our team.ย
Hi Elizabeth Bayer, thank you for posting, I've shared your feedback around space-level Dashboards with the team ๐
The workaround for the moment could be creating a user group(s) to share specific dashboards and spaces with different rights according to your needs. To avoid pollution, I can recommend starting small, with a smaller team, and do review your current setup and clear custom fields, dashboards, etc. that are not in use. Maybe creating a post on the How To forum might be a good idea to hear how other Community members do it ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ
@...ย thanks! I'm doing this now... but with Spaces. Only certain user groups have access/permissions to spaces and the tools within.ย
However, in our company, the whole team has "Read only" access to all spaces. Our business units are far more intertwined than usual, and we try to make it so each member can find what they need, even if they are not part of that business unit/user group.ย
I do regular inventory and clearing of custom fields and dashboards. (No I actually do, I promise).ย
ย But as a follow-up - to your suggestion - I think as a work-around for now, I'll take dashboards out of spaces and only share with their correlating user-groups. My team will just have to pin the ones they need before I take them out of the sidebar. Thank you!!
