Drag and drop project along Gantt chart timeline to quickly adjust dates of all accompanying tasks
There is tremendous value in being able to select the timeline at a project level within the Gantt chart and simply drag it along the calendar to a new date range. This would adjust all tasks and subtasks within that project proportionally and ensure the structure remains the same while adjusting all start and end dates. This is functionality that was critical to my team at a previous company where we leveraged Teamwork instead of Wrike.
Hi Tim Marcacci, welcome to the Community 👋
Thank you for reaching out!
Could you please let me know if you've considered using the ability to shift a dependency chain on the Gantt Chart?

Hi Tim,
I definetely see a lot of benefit in your idea!
Hi Lisa,
Shifting a dependency chained project can be very cumbersome, we do have projects with more than 100 tasks. Daisychaining them all can be very cumbersome, and sometimes you dont even want the tasks to be dependent, so you link them all just to remove the links after moving the project.
So it would be really great if you could do the shift on project level, if this is not possible in the Gannt Chart, a function where you can enter a new start date or a new end date (and the whole project gets shifted) would be helpful as well.
Kind regards,
Wiebke Willems
Lisa Thanks for replying to the thread - Yes, I'm aware of this ability and have been leveraging it for the time being. Luckily we don't have the same complexity that Wiebke Willems does, but they are spot on in regards to this needed functionality. There are plenty of tasks within a workflow where dependents are not needed/wanted and having to daisy chain them just to be moved with the others and then unchain them is a very cumbersome process. The best rule of thumb in a tool like this is the fewer clicks needed the better.
Got you, thanks a lot for clarifying, Wiebke Willems, Tim Marcacci! 🙌
I'm passing your feedback to our Product team now 👍
