"hide empty folders" on the new Gantt chart with project filtering is not working
Scenario: I have a large program with many folders/projects and sub folders/projects. I want to be able to see, on the gantt view, all tasks in the program assigned to me (or another single user), without seeing any folders/projects that do not contain any tasks assigned to me (or them).
The above used to be possible by using the "hide empty folders" button after filtering on tasks assigned to me.
Now that "filtering by project information" has been introduced on the gantt view, when I try the above scenario, the "hide empty folders" button no longer hides folders that have no tasks assigned to me. this means that I see hundreds of project/folders that have nothing to do with me.
I can't use the project filter for projects assigned to me because some of my tasks appear in projects I don't own. I can't filter on projects between certain dates because some of my tasks are not in project, just folders.
Is there anyway around this, or can the "hide empty folders" be made to behave like it used to?
Hey Phil Mauger, and welcome to the Community!
I've raised a Support ticket for you here. Someone should be in contact with you soon. If you need anything else, be sure to let me know!
An update to the issue. Support have written to say:
"I'm afraid you're right, the "hide empty folders" button affects folders only, but not the projects. I can see that in your use case it would be hard to filter out empty projects and doing it by the button would simplify the work significantly, so I've sent your feedback to our Product Development Team."
Hi Phil Mauger, thank you for sharing this update.
If you'd like, I can move this post to the Product Feedback section of the Community? This way, other Community members will be able to show their support and provide their own input on this suggestion as well.
Yes please Hugh, that would be great!
Just moved the post to the Product Feedback section now, Phil Mauger! Once this post reaches 60 upvotes, the Product team will provide you with a status update about this suggestion. If there are any changes before then, I'll be sure to let you know.
If you need anything else, feel free to reach out at any time 👍
Hello.I have the same need.

Same here, up until a few weeks ago I used this function regularly to hide projects that did not meet the filters I set. Now the function does nothing.
Hey Bessiere Christophe and Gregory Benjamin, thank you for sharing your feedback here. It's been passed on to the Product team.
My team and I are going back to a report that used to work but doesn't anymore since this feature is broken. Can we get it fixed please?
I'm experiencing this issue as well. The icon is lights up when clicked, but nothing changes on the view.

Hello Tim Clark Paige Weaks! I have to say that this is the intended behavior at the moment, the "hide empty folders" button affects folders only, but not the projects. We continue to pass on your feedback to the team and we'll let you know once we have an update from them.
