Wrike Integrate - Example recipe that sets task start/due dates from request form without requiring the form submitter to select the date multiple times
One of our frustrations with Wrike Request Forms has been the limitation related to date form fields and the inability to map a single form field to multiple task destinations (e.g. task start date, task due date, task description, etc.).
We're now using Wrike Integrate to handle date adjustments on tasks created via request forms, so we can control the task start/end dates and record the requested due date in the task description, without making the form submitter manually select the same date multiple times when submitting the form.
Prerequisites:
- Wrike Business or Wrike Enterprise (in order to use custom fields)
- Wrike Integrate (paid add-on)
- Wrike custom text field named Wrike Integrate (used to distinguish new tasks vs. updated tasks)
- Wrike custom date field named Need By (used to record the requested due date from the form submission)
Request Form Requirements
- This example assumes the request form is configured to create a single new task. (Modifications would be needed if the request form creates a project from blueprint, etc.)
- This example assume the request form contains a single form field that requires the user to enter a requested due date, and this field is mapped to the Need By custom field
Recipe results
This recipe will trigger only for new tasks, and will use the "need by" date submitted on the form as well as the form submission date to update the following:
- Resulting task start date will be set to the date the form is submitted
- Resulting task due date will be set to the date requested by the form submitter
- The task description will be updated to include the requested due date, for audit purposes in case the task due date needs to be changed after the form is submitted.
