I agree! I would like the ability to select a default view in Spaces.

Dying for this. Spaces are great, and we re-jigged our entire hierarchy around them but this oversight is incredibly frustrating.

This needs more attention - such a simple oversight and the List view is arguably the least effective.

The more I've been using spaces, the more I believe that the very best solution for the Spaces "front page" is actually a dashboard.

Dashboard give the user so much more flexibility to provide an overview of what is happening in the Space, that I think it's the perfect fit. I know you can link to a dashboard but if each space could open with a dashboard we could really make sure that the right information is getting out in front of the team working on that space, rather than relying on them to drill down into the right projects, etc.

I've created a mockup below to demonstrate what that might look like.

Our Product team is currently looking into adding the ability to create and keep dashboards right in the Space. It's not on the short-term roadmap, but definitely something the team is interested in. I'll let you know here when I know more about it.

We definitely need this. I love the spaces, but some we prefer viewing in list view and others in board view. We need to be able to set a default view for a space!

I would like the Wrike's iPad app to allow me to select the Board view in Spaces. 

Another vote for default Space view.  I'd prefer a default table view myself. I like how clean and logical the table view is. 

I agree, default view for space or a dashboard view would also be great.

A default view option would really be beneficial in Spaces!

Phil Sim totally agree that the dashboard view for a space would make the most sense!
Lisa Right now spaces don't feel a whole lot different from projects and folders... it's feels like the only noticeable difference from a day-to-day use perspective is the additional bookmarks section and ability to add an icon.. but a dashboard would really make them stand out and be purposeful!

It's a must have.  It is a time waster for users to have to click on Table, when it is the ONLY view that want for the SPACE.   

I find myself clicking on Table view over and over when I go into a Space these days.  Would be nice to be able to change that defaul

I agree with the feedback here, and that a Space Dashboard is probably the best approach. Some of our Spaces have quite a bit of projects so seeing the entire space in Table or Gantt can be excessive. I think the dashboard approach to a Space gives a great overview, and from there you can drill into the folder or project you want to manage.

However, even with the Space Dashboard, I still agree with the other users that you should be able to set a different default view if you choose to. Not everyone works the same way, and by giving us the option of what view we want for our spaces makes the most sense, just like any other folder.

Hi, I would crate a project folder as a main (space), and than have all the other projects will be as sub folders, so I have my own space and default view is allowed.

Naftuli, this is indeed a workaround to define a folder's default view and put projects under that folder, but it is limited and doesn't address the limitation of the Space itself. Spaces are the root organizational element where the default permissions are set and how most companies delineate their departments or scopes of work. The above feedback is still applicable to Spaces, regardless of how many folders you create inside the Space.

Hey everyone, a quick update here -

We've recently released Configurable Views in Wrike Labs. This allows you to choose which views are available in Spaces, Projects, and folders. While this does not change the List view from being the default view, it does mean that you and your team will be able to quickly switch to the required view once you open the Space. You can activate Configurable Views from Wrike Labs.

@..., thank you for the insight to the new Configurable Views capability. You hit it on the head, though, in that it doesn't change the default view, which is the main point for this feedback thread. It does provide some customizing of folders, but it does not address the desire to choose the view we want to use for a given space by default. 

What Configurable Views mostly does is limit what other views are available. But, I don't think the desire here is to remove certain views as options, but instead allow all views while being able to choose what view we want as a default.

Hello Hugh,  thanks for the update on your LAB testing.  It really defeats the purpose to have a LIST view as a default if we cannot SET the permanent view [our choosing alone] to "Table" for example.

I have a space ONLY for invoicing, and it stands alone, so it is not embedded in another space.  It is NOT a project and the SPACE feature offers everything we need, EXCEPT for the default view.  So, having to open the space and then again click on TABLE, to see outstanding invoices, due dates with sum columns etc, is a further waste of time, when i enter this space 70-80 times a day.  

We are asking for the SAME functionality that exists in PROJECTS where you can select the view.

I appreciate this has ramifications to underlying projects, folders etc, but at least give the user the choice. Underlying projects, folders etc can still have their own default... if needed.
