Task- and project-based automations to include CITs
Hi team,
It would be super helpful (and less cluttered) if our Task- and Project-based automation rules would pick up on Task- and Project-based Custom Item Types.
Use Case/Example
We have team spaces in our account and every space has a structure of status folders for incoming, active, and completed work. We have rules set up to move projects between these folders based on status changes. We currently have it set up for Projects and noticed that our Project-based Custom Item CITs were not being picked up by the rule. The fix was to specify the CIT as the item type, but since we cannot add more than one, it means that we'll need to duplicate these sets of rules for each and every CIT. This would all be seamless, less cluttered, and easier if when Project or Task is selected in the automation, it would include any Project- or Task-based CITs.
Update from Support
Support mentioned:
"If the automation rules are account-level rules, these will take into consideration custom item type projects as well."
This is inconsistent as it works this way on the Account level, but not the Space level (where our rules exist for each space to move work between their respective folders).
Thank you, Anna Giacobbe for detailing your use case and creating this feedback post. We are forwarding it to the Product Team now 👍
