How to get a custom field from a parent project when returning all tasks from project folder

I am currently calling the API to get all tasks from a parent folder. Inside of the parent folder are many projects and then tasks inside of each project. The project has a location assigned to it as a custom field, but the task doesn't have the location as a custom field. 
I am wondering if there is a way to reference that custom field from the parent project without making a separate API call.
