How to assign all tasks to one person in a blueprint project

Hello,

My organization is using Wrike to onboard new team members. How would I go about creating a blueprint project and bulk assigning all the tasks within it to the new team member?

Thanks!

Cameron Manderfield - There isn't an easy way to bulk assign tasks to people. We were discussing this idea in this thread. The best workaround was to use an automation to assign it to multiple people. You'll have to pick a trigger (maybe a custom field?).

We also discussed why we would want to bulk-assign tasks. The problem comes with who is supposed to mark it complete. It would be better to assign everyone their own onboarding material and when they work through it individually, they mark their stuff complete. Just some food for thought.

Sorry maybe I did not provide enough detail: we would be bulk-assigning all the tasks to just one person, the person who is working through the onboarding tasks. I am trying to figure out a way to cut down time when, each time we create a new project, it will be for just one team member (the new team member onboarding), and each of the tasks would be assigned to just that person as they onboard and work their way through the material. There is no way to select all the folders or an entire project and assign all the tasks within it to one person?

Cameron Manderfield - If the assignee is static, just assign the blueprint to the person.

If the assignee is dynamic, it's probably best to use a request form and collect the assignee's name there. This will only assign the top level (project or task) to that person, but they'll still get notified of the assignment.

This isn't automated, but you can open the project or folder in Table View, assign the task in the top row to the person you want to assign it to, then drag that field (select the field, look for a green circle in the bottom right of the cell, click and hold the circle to drag) all the way down the column and it will update all the tasks below it to assignee you dragged from the top row.

Hi Cameron Manderfield, welcome to the Community! Thank you for creating this post. As Michelle Merwin points out, it seems that the best way to achieve this would be opening the item in the New Table view, and bulk-assig the items to the relevant user:

Thank you for your suggestions as always, Mike Fank!

Oh Juan and Michelle Merwin - Those are easier suggestions than creating a whole form.

Go figure, I completely spaced on the easy option 🤣
