[Status: Not planned] Recurrent Parent + Subtasks

When making a recurrent task, I also need the subtasks of that parent task to be recurrent.

Yes - having subtasks recur with the parent task would be great.

I agree.

I just tested the new recurrent setup that was released late Dec 17, was all stoked to start planning our easily forgotten quarterly tasks...and then noticed that only the main task was recurrent and lost all of the subtasks.

Without copied subtasks (and anything associated to it, assignees, files, copy), the recurrent setup in Wrike is a glorified MS Outlook reminder tool.

My use case:

I'm in marketing, administering a loyalty program.

Our loyalty program members are rewarded with "rewards dollars" every quarter to use for various business expenses such as marketing, advertising, bonuses to employees or anything else related to the business. Each quarter we need to wait until Finance has closed out the month, as well as make sure all of our customers redemption's (rewards dollars used) are accounted for properly.

Once Finance is ready, we have a quick 15 min meeting to make sure everything checks out and that no expenses are in limbo, we then use our other software to generate the reports and email them off individually.

Example: Recur every 3 months on the second Monday.

>>>Task: Loyalty Program Statements

> Subtask: Book meeting with Finance to Review Rewards Statements

> Subtask: Run 10 statements and verify with Finance and Loyalty manager

> Subtask: Run finished statements

> Subtask: E-mail sales managers that statements have been sent

Admittedly this looks really easy to remember since it's only 4 subtasks but this is the first project that I have thought of that would be great to have automatic reminders of such tasks - I am sure we will have more complex ones that would benefit extremely from this.

Thanks!

LOVE the flexibility of the new recurrent task feature . . .  and . . . really need the change to apply to subtasks as well. We have a number of tasks that have 4-8 subtasks that occur regularly. VERY much need sub-tasks to recur along with the parent task.

+1

We have many "projects" recurring on a weekly, monthly (or so) basis which requires several steps. It could be "Send newsletter" (steps being: write text, proof read, update figures, send), for example, where different people assigned to complete steps which may be dependent on each other. Can't imagine this being uncommon and, as somebody mentioned, even Wunderlist can handle this perfectly.

Yes Agree! This is commonly the biggest gripe about reoccuring tasks here in our office. The solution should not be "Add them to the description, then copy them to the parent task when it comes up"

Yes PLEEEEEEAAAASE. This would drastically increase the usability of the system for us.

Agree!  Would love to have this.  I'd even accept having to check a box on the recurrence setup screen if you don't want it to be the default.

This definitely needs to be added functionality.  My team has tasks that require steps be completed by a number of different people and adding those as subtasks would make this functionality significantly more useful for us.

If the recurrence uses another task with sublist as its sublist (i.e. what happens when you add a task with a sublist as your sub-list task in a task), association with that list should also be duplicated. This is useful in cases where your recurrences are chipping away at a larger task in which you only accomplish one piece at a time, and that way they share the progress across recurrences.

VERY VERY NEEDED and could be a dealbreaker for my company using this program or not vs Asana who has this function

Same here. We need the recurrence of subtasks.

Any update on the addition of Recurrent tasks + Subtasks - I'm trying to set up daily, weekly and monthtly checklists for staff that have subtasks - instead of using an excel spreadsheet!!

@Stephanie Westbrook

this has been an issue identified by clients since ~November 2016. Are the Wrike team working on a fix?

Wrike....why are you not even giving us feedback? Spending $1,000's times mulipilers a year on software that is incomplete.

This is a basic request and only makes good common sense and supports excellent buisness practices.

Are you smarter than your endusers?????????????????
