Agree 100% This function is crucial with those of us that have many projects. I have a million tasks and delegate assignments to other members of my team. Very hard to do this with tasks.  A project board would be way more helpful imo.

Hello everyone. This function is now available in Wrike, been using it for about half a year and it's great for our planning sessions.

I believe Paul is referring to the Project widget in Dashboards. You can create a number of filtered project widgets to suit your monitoring needs

+1 vote for this feature! Our teams would love to be able to utilize the Projects Dashboard in the same way as the Tasks Kanban Boards can be used now, so that you can actively select & drag projects to & from various stages of the workflow & their active statuses would automatically be updated in synch! Like a Trello Board in Wrike for Projects! Would make managing one's projects so much easier & intuitive for users. The feature exists for Tasks, wouldn't it make sense to enable this feature for Projects as well?

    100% Agree!

A functionality to have a board view for all projects would be a huge improvement and facilitate 100% adoption of Wrike within our group. My Manager is considering keeping a spreadsheet of all projects to fulfill the ease of dragging projects around based on importance- we're supposed to be moving forward not making things more complex. Having multiple different filters for the board ie status of project, folder the project is housed in etc., would meet everyone's comments! Honestly, I am quite surprised this has not already been developed. Thank you for the dev to get this done!

    HI Wrike Team,

Any status on when or IF you plan on adding this feature?

This is a huge selling point for us and we would find it very useful if we were to have a board view of all projects. This would provide us with a high level view of the status of all projects and would help us identify projects that are in need of attention. We are currently doing this process manually on a white board or through excel.

Will start to research other PM software to see if this service is being offered.

Anyone know if this is being offered by another platform?

Since changing our hierarchy around to use Spaces we have started using projects more. We try not to bury projects down too deep in a hierarchy so where previously we would have a Project, then tasks, subtasks. We now generally use Space, Project, Tasks, Subtasks. It's working better for us with the exception of we now can't display what used to be tasks on boards as they are now projects. I think Spaces makes this request absolutely fundamental. Indeed, we would like to set a project-level board view as our default opening view on all spaces.

Hi everyone, thanks for your input here.

After investigating the possibility to implement this, our Product team are not planning to work on it in the near future, so I changed the status of the suggestion to correspond to the team's plans. However, the good news here is that project tracking can be done with our Dashboard functionality - please give it a try and let me know what you think. I know it's not what you've asked for exactly, but it might be helpful.

Thank you again for posting and commenting here, and please rest assured that we pass all your feedback to the relevant teams.

I'll get back to you here in case the status of this suggestion changes.

This is an unfortunate decision from your Product team.  We have three teams using Wrike currently and all of us rely heavily on projects with tasks and subtasks.  Being able to manage these projects in a board view was something often asked for from our team members.  I told them that Wrike was looking into this possibility.

The Project widget in Dashboard is very limited compared to the Task widget and, as such, would not be able to replicate any sort of board view functionality.  Of the top of my head, some projects features that will help go a long way for us to more effectively manage projects in a dashboard view would be:

    1. Custom status
    2. Tasks grouped by project (preferably expand/contract view)
    3. Customized visible fields in widget view--we don't always want Task Name as the header

I hope the Product team will reconsider.  This limitation will deter other teams from adopting Wrike for their work/project management tool.  Thanks!

    (Editado )

Agree with last post. This is a disappointing outcome as a Project Board view would be a great feature. Would seem logical to have that functionality for Projects when it already exists for Tasks management. 75 up votes on this thread would seem to indicate there are a good amount of other teams out there that would like this feature as well.

Lisa, may I ask if adding this feature would have involved too much complicated rework to be done to the core system to be worth the hassle?

I am ok with this, because I get that the logic of using boards (which are really meant for transitional workflows) aren't necessarily a great fit for projects. Wrike have said that they are fixing the issue with customisable status on projects, which means you will be able to create a dashboard view that has same visual representation as you would with a board. it you could set up four panels to show different project statuses.

I hope this decision comes with Wrike doing more to make Dashboards less siloed. I've stated elsewhere that I'd like to set up Dashboard as my default view on Spaces - because to me when you open a space you want to see the various projects statuses, as well as things like overdue tasks, etc. I get dashboard and use them a lot but not one other person in my team uses them because they don't fit within the main hierarchical view that everyone else uses.

We've actually created this functionality using Wrike Integrate. Every time a new project is created, we have an automation that generates a task in that project which = Project (Sign off), which also gets added to a folder called All Projects. That folder uses its own Custom Workflow which has our Project Statuses. We also have a Wrike Integration automation which marks the project complete, when the Sign Off task is dragged into Complete.

Hey guys, thank you for your input here.

@Kevin, our Product team is planning Board View enhancements, but for now those plans don't include adding Projects there. As @Phil mentions in his comment, Custom Project Statuses are going to be released very soon, so the Dashboards for projects with different statuses will be a good solution to track their progress more efficiently.

Thank you again for your feedback, I'll let you know if the feature is planned in the future, or about any enhancements for the Board View 🙌

    Hi Lisa,

Thanks for your response. The Dashboard view for Projects status is already in use by our team, but it does not give the same functionality as the Tasks Boards view does (you can't easily move projects from status to status & have it automatically update as you can currently with Tasks in Wrike which functions very similarly as a Trello sprint board would). Judging by how long it took to get custom Project statuses in place, I don't expect this feature to be added in anytime soon, but just wanted to put the idea out there so that hopefully sometime down the road it may be considered for a future add-on. Thank you.

Kevin, just from our perspective - we've personally made the decision right now that projects are basically borked in Wrike, while there are:
    1) No custom statuses
    2) No ability to tag projects with custom fields or any custom data
    3) As such limited ability to filter projects on dashboards
    4) More limited options for visualisation when compared to tasks on boards, etc
    5) Since the introduction of spaces I can't even set a space-by-space setting for whether I show tasks under projects on the default view

We generally now only use folders and tasks and set up each project as a task. Admittedly, we don't have lots of projects with dozen or hundreds of tasks and our big projects do have their own project, but all our users are now encouraged to set new projects up as a task within their main department project.

I'm hoping with custom statuses on projects this will change our view on projects, but right now we feel task functionality is awesome, project functionality is terrible, so we just work within that framework.

Just in case that's helpful to anyone else folllowing this thread!

Phil, unfortunately our workflow is centered around Projects, some of which have over 30 different task milestones with multiple stakeholders. We use Folders for sorting & categorization, but you cannot attach file attachments, comment on proofs or maintain a string of project related conversation at the Folder level so using them for Project Management is not really an option.

If Wrike could convert the current Tasks to "Projects" & encode another sublevel of tasks within to manage milestones it would seem to fulfill the needs for most users on this thread in my view. I suppose the coding involved to do that must be much more involved that it sounds it should be.

I have just onboarded onto Wrike and found this thread as I was planning on making the feature request.

I agree mostly with Kevin and Phil on these points:

    - Projects are pretty limited

    - it would be nice to move projects around on a board, for example during a status meeting.  Projects are very lightweight in Wrike, which is actually great for our needs, and we use them as collections of work we can break down into subprojects, etc., not as more "full-blown" projects that other apps like Teamwork, etc. make more "heavy."

My hope would be that with the new custom statuses about to come up for Projects, you could on the Spaces area display projects in the Board view.  I think this is a more natural fit that tasks on that board, since tasks are probably better managed in a Project's board, not up at the space level.  Seems like it would be easy for Wrike to simply use the new custom statuses to filter a board in a Space to show the many projects that are likely to be in a Space, and then the user could move them around.

Another huge bonus for me would be the ability to "pivot" the table view into a board to get a User Story Mapping view.  I realize this is probably more wishful thinking, but it would allow Wrike to then function as one of the up-and-coming Product Planning apps - Aha, ProductBoard, ProdPad, ProductPlan, Glidr, Craft.io.  Wrike already is close to them with the massive flexibility of folders, projects and tasks, and this extra visualization would really get close to these tools, which I've been evaluating.  As a hint to the product team, these tools are all very pricey, tend to be $50 plus per seat.

At any rate, back to the question at hand, this functionality of seeing Projects as cards on the Spaces board would meet most of my needs for seeing projects on a board, and hoping you guys can make that one happen!

    Thanks and cheers.

Not gonna lie I didn't read all of the other clients, but this is how I'm wanting to use this feature for my company's client.

It'd be super useful to see where each client is on our fulfillment process.

+1 for this feature. I Use folders for a project and the board for the project does not show the tasks in them. Having a project board show tasks in the folders would be great to have.

Zack Plauche's post on Aug 05, 2019 exactly captures my own team's desired use for this.

I'd like to be able to have large team meetings where we update the overall status of a project in Wrike on a kanban-style board. Because Wrike doesn't have this feature, we need to duplicate all of our Wrike projects on post-it notes and move them across the wall in our office 😐

I am going to add my vote for this. PLEASE make this an added feature to the board view. We created a dashboard that has all of the PROJECTS status. But we really REALLY need a board view of project status. It would make the process so much faster and better to use. Especially quickly dragging and dropping a project from one board (status) to the next.

PLEASE PLEAE PLEASE work on this.
