Prioritising Tasks within Workload View

I would like to be able to prioritise tasks in the Workload view so that where multiple tasks are shown for a given day, my staff know which to start first. The list view can be prioritised but as we work on long projects and dip in and out of them, the priorities change all of the time.

Hi Helen and Ross, this is a really interesting idea! It would be great to hear some more about how you envision this prioritisation taking place on the Workload. What kind of priority indicator would work best for you and help visually gauge the importance of tasks?

Hi Anastasia

It would be good to be able to prioritise by a number that is viewable from the Workload view and can be set for each day, i.e. something may be a priority 1 on Monday but be a priority 3 on Tuesday. We tend to assign 3 or 4 tasks per day (sometimes many more) but if the team view work from the Workload view, they don't know where to start. Perhaps even being able to drag and drop them into order for a particular day could work too?

One other thing for the workload view would be to be able to drag and drop users, based on their role. Although we can filter on the users, it would be good to see the view of all members of the team but to be able to put certain staff members adjacent to each other in the view, due to their role. At the moment, the team are ordered alphabetically but if I could drag them so that all job role A sit at the top, followed by job role B, etc that would be super useful!

Hope that information helps!

Thanks

Hi Helen, thank you for following up! This is really helpful, I appreciate the details you added here. The point about users is interesting too and I can see how that could help, especially with managing larger teams. Once again, thanks for taking the time to write up this feedback, our Product Team monitors the ideas posted on the Community and it's fantastic to have your thoughts about the Workload View here.

I would love to see this as well. I see it as a "drag and drop" vertically to order

or

add draggable dependency arrows so people know what order to prioritize things for the day.

Welcome to the Community Katie Pederson! I don't yet have an update from the team, but it'd help immensely if we could get more upvotes for this suggestion as they help the team to see how popular the idea is.
