[Status: Backburner ⌛️] Ability to amend working hours per day
Wrike currently defaults to an 8 hour working day.
I would like to be able to change this as I have some team members who are only utilised 50% of the time.

As commented above, our resource availability varies between staff members, and time needs to be removed for meetings, administration etc. It's important that there's a user profile with the number of hours they are available.
Adding to this chain, I agree with many of these comments that it would be ideal to be able to add the # of hours per day that each resource has capacity to work. There are different situations where staff members might only have 5h/day vs. 8h/day for example. Within TFS (which we used to use) it would allow us to enter the capacity per day per person, their vacation days and their holidays.
It would then allow you to see the total capacity for the team vs. the planned work. You could immediately see who is over allocated in the chart. I have been working with the resource planning add-on but I still feel like it is missing the ability to confirm staff capacity on a daily basis which can times can and will vary from a standard 8h/day.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
In keeping with this thought process, yes, this capacity scheduling will be a great enhancement but linking with a calendar resource (like Outlook) where it already accounts for availability, like scheduled meetings, vacations, holidays, etc. would be extremely helpful. Outlook also has a feature that includes work hours, so this would map exact hours of availability, not just # of hours available.
I support this request fully. With more and more people working part-time, where in most cases the work hours are not spread equally over the working days. To be able to do a proper workload planning / monitoring it should be possible to set not only the working days, but also the hours / day for each working day individually in the work schedule.
Hope the "coming soon" status is too far away....😉
Wait, this topic is over 18 mo old, Wrike how is the ability to change from 8 hours per day not implemented yet? I too have stretches where we work 12 hour days and need to adjust accordingly.
There was mention a year ago that the feature is coming soon...how soon?
In Wike sense, coming soon means 1 day or 1 moth or 1 year or even 1 decade..
I'm not really expecting too much here, Wrike product developers already have plan for couple of years, and i dont believe they will deliver anything in coming two years.
Hi, I was wondering whether there is any update as to when this feature will be implemented?
Yes. Can we please have an update on this feature?

One year later, can we have a date for this release ?
It is important for us to have an availability schedule that really corresponds to reality, as much to plan as to monitor.
Hi everyone, thank you so much for your feedback and ideas here!
This suggestion is on the roadmap, which is why the status here is "Coming soon". At the same time, it does take a while to do this, and it not in the "In the making" status at the moment. So the good news is - it will be part of Wrike functionality. However, I understand that the "Coming soon" status might be confusing, considering the time needed for planning and development. We do have the explanation of all our Product statuses here - I'd be happy to know what you think of them!

Hi everyone, I have just added +1 to this functionality as well as we have many different working time models within our team and definitely need this functionality to properly schedule all tasks. Please keep us up to date in this thread and let us know the timeline when we can expect that this functionality will be implemented by Wrike.
Lisa thanks for the update and for the explanation of Product Statuses. Like everyone else we would love the opportunity to alter the working hours. We work 7.30 hours per day as a standard so the new utilisation reports don't work for us yet.
Yes same here +1. We work 39 hours per week and have varying teams working different hours due to flexible working which isnt that difficult a workaround. However I have some staff that work reduced hours and they have one day of per week at their choosing (usually a Friday though).
Hello everyone! After the regular check with the team, we decided to change the status to "Backburner" for now. As I mentioned above, this is definitely planned, it's just that it will take a considerable amount of time to implement, so we don't want to set the wrong expectations here.
The Product team completely understands the need for this; thanks a lot for al the feedback and votes! I'll keep checking for updates and inform you here.

I would just like to upvote this suggestion, as we also in our company have different work hours per day. I will continue following this thread.
Just been playing around with the Workload feature, looks cool until I was told workdays are set at 8 hours and cannot change. This is crazy, no two companies are the same and even job roles within companies may have different hours for different people. Until this is made more flexible the whole workload section is useless as the calculations it makes are based on incorrect working hours.
Seems a lot of effort went into this section but it is half baked. And this thread been going on for years, I'm surprised Wrike haven't considered this more important.
FYI my company works on 7.5 hour days. Some staff work less per day.
My org would definitely make use of the ability to customize work hours. We are on a 4-10s shift typically. But, more beneficial, there are only so many hours a day a particular person generally has to dedicate to project work. For example, an Applications Analyst may only work 25% of their available time on project work, due to meetings, maintenance work, and other duties.
Right now, I am creating a work-around by adding a project called Unavailable Time and associating 75% of their time to that project. This allows me to see remaining capacity. But that doesn't fix the problem of allowing 10 hours per work day.
Adding this fix would resolve both issues.
Hi everyone! I've checked with the team again - no changes since my last update. The team are planning this long-term, but they might also implement smaller changes this year that should help. Hope I'll be able to share more details after the next check.
Thanks a lot for your feedback!

This is very important for us as well.
We work 9 hours a day, and would like it to be reflected in Wrike. :(
We are looking for this option too. Our teams work across time zones and more that 8 hrs a day and 4 hrs on Saturdays
I have a US team that works 40hrs per week and an Australian team that works 38 hrs per week. The Australian hour requirement is a National Employment Standard set by the government. AU laws are very strict regarding hours worked per week. Having the ability to adjust the work hours per team (US = 8hr/day and AU = 7.6hrs/day) is critical to ensure we stay within the confines of AU law.
Is there an update regarding the timing for release of this feature request? This thread started in 2017. It seems about time to get it done.
Wrike is useless for deadlines, where we work 14 hours per day. No use for cinema industry, festival or enterntainment business where we work entire weekend. Any recommendations on other similar tool. I am a project manager with more than 10 years work experience. Who has decided that entire world works 8 hours per day. Very unsatisfied - just waisted my time creating Gantt charts.
we are assessing other tools with better resources management, we only choose Wrike because of Resource management, but we were surprised that managing working hours per day is not supported !!?? how do you call this resource management tool !!?
+1. International teams here with different workweek hour requirements. That fact that we have to export a spreadsheet of billable versus non-billable hours and do extra math to figure it out is ridic. Please get this implemented. Pretty basic and important function to have in a PM tool. Especially since it's been being asked for literally for years?
Yup same issue here already thinking of switching to other platform which could allow us to do this. This is already available in Asana, we are testing it.
if some how this is available in wrike we definitely would like to stick to wrike.
Wrike team,
Because of the COVID stay-at-home order, our company has reduced everyone's hours to a 5hr work day. We are all blessed to still be employed.
As Michael Goldstein has pointed out, this thread was started back in 2017. This has a +180 thumbs-up. I'm wondering, too, when this can be implemented or is there a work around the Community Team can suggest?
Hi everyone, thank you for all of your feedback. While the Product team is still interested in this, it is currently not on the short-term roadmap. As soon as I have an update for you, I'll let you know.
Following. Really surprised that hours per day cannot be amended. And looking back on this thread this is something in high demand for many different reasons. Our proposals are base don 7.5 hour day calculations but project management is counting 8 hours, so our reports will always be out.
Would really appreciate an update on when this will be resolved.
Kind regards
Sarah

Very high demand for this. With a standard capacity of 8 hrs/day Wrike Resource is useless for us. We have a lot of people who only work for our department a few hours a day.
Hey everyone, thank you for your feedback here. It's been passed on to the Product team.
