Booking less than full day off on Work Schedule
Hi,
Is there an enhancement in queue to allow marking non-full day time off in Work Schedules?
Example: user's capacity is set in Work Schedule to 8h. The user takes 3 hours off on a given day. Right now this is impossible in Work Schedule and we have a crutch workaround: we have Leave tasks in a separate "Leave" folder where people book their time off when it's less than a full day. However, this is problematic, because it leads to erroneous Team utilization rate (because capacity is not decremented properly, and Time Spent is wrongly increased).
I envisage a flow whereby user can click on a day in Work Schedule, and there will be a popup allowing to enter number of hours off, which would then decrease capacity by that number of hours for that specific day.
Hi Catherine Cole! It's possible to change the custom daily capacity in work schedules. Does this help in your case?

We have a similar situation where we would like to have a PTO option less than a full day, for example a couple of hours. Now it seems impossible to schedule this PTO.
Lisa Would be better to be able to set a capacity per day. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 8 hours. Thursday 4 hours. In Europe the average working week of an employee is 36 hours a week.
Hi Laurens van Gunst and Peter Nijssen 👋 thank you both for sharing your feedback along with your use cases! While there is no update at the moment, we will ensure your comments are forwarded to the right team and will keep you notified if there's any update in the coming months 👍

It would be helpful to allow any hourly variation to the daily work schedule to include out of office time. At a minimum, 4 hours or a 1/2 day would be appreciated.
If we create a custom work schedule, including specific department holidays, will the users associated with that work schedule automatically have those holidays applied to their work schedules? I don't see them when I look at the user custom work schedule.

Example: a user’s capacity is set to 8 h in the Work Schedule. If they take 3 hours off on a given day, it’s currently impossible to reflect this directly. Our workaround is to use “Leave” tasks in a separate folder for any time off less than a full day. This, however, causes inaccurate team utilization rates, since capacity isn’t reduced correctly and Time Spent is artificially increased.
Ideally, users could click on a day in the Work Schedule and enter the number of hours off (e.g., 3 hours), which would reduce capacity for that day accordingly. Even a simple “half-day off” option would suffice.
Hi everyone 👋 I wanted to provide a quick update: our team is developing a half-day holiday logging feature. We’ll keep you posted as we get more information. Thanks!

Why only half a day, not based on hours so people can create half a day themselves (not for everybody is a full day 8 hours)?
Laurens van Gunst, thanks for getting back to us. Our team is working on a solution to make time-off tracking more accurate, including half-days, a few hours off, and other flexible arrangements. We’re organizing a feedback session. If you’d like to participate, please check out this post for more details.
