[Wrike Labs Release] Wrike Drop - New Table, Board, and Calendar View now in Labs 🔬 💥

Hi Community!

Today we are excited to announce not one but three new releases for Wrike Labs: A new Table, Board, and Calendar View 🎉

We'd like to thank all of you who helped us shape the new features by participating in open and private betas and interviews with our Product team. Thank you for your willingness to share your time - we appreciate your feedback!

Why are we releasing these new and enhanced views? 🆕

Our Product team always strives to improve your experience with Wrike and this is just the start of the evolution of our platform, we have a lot of exciting things coming. We constantly review your feedback here in the Community and on our other feedback channels, as well as track various metrics, so we want to thank you for your feedback and for helping us shape our roadmap. We are also researching non-stop to be able to bring the most relevant solutions with the most positive impact. The new Table and Board Views bring enhancements to already familiar ways of working in Wrike, and the Calendar View is a brand new view that complements the standalone Calendar tool. We hope you’ll enjoy these new views!

What’s next? ⏩

For now, we are happy to invite you to enable our enhanced views, try them out and share your feedback. We will be posting separate content for the three views so that it’s easier for you to let us know your thoughts. Our Product team is very eager for your feedback as they continue enhancing those new views. Please note that being a Wrike Labs release, the New Table and Board Views, as well as the new Calendar View, are experimental and subject to change.

So what's new in the...?

New Table View 📑

The New Table view allows you for easier onboarding and provides a faster and smoother way to manage your work. Our table view offers the flexibility and collaboration you need in a spreadsheet-like format you’re familiar with, but with an additional ability to visualize a complex hierarchy of work. Table view allows you to drill down into the details of each item to extract the exact information that you need to make effective decisions. Using the new view you now can:

  • Navigate around the table with an item open on the right panel (i.e. task or project) and switch easily to another task with one click.
  • Create and manage your work items.
  • Use the new and improved custom field management.
  • Expect faster loading times compared to the classic Table view⏳
  • Expand and collapse your work to the next level of subitems.

New Board View 🔎

The New Board View is an easy-to-understand, drag-and-drop Kanban-style view that allows you to see all your tasks in a project, folder, or space in a simple layout, grouped by the status of the item. Using the new view you now can:

  • View subtasks from the board itself! This was a highly demanded feature request by the Community - thank you for your continuous support.
  • Adjust the order of the columns.
  • Edit workflows, and use any workflow, not just the folder default. Each folder can have multiple custom views with boards by different workflows.
  • View start date & duration and custom fields in relation to tasks on the cards.
  • Use the new panel to view tasks on the right side, keeping your board visible and interactive.

New Calendar View 🗓

The New Calendar View allows you to quickly visualize your work items such as tasks, projects, and custom item types on a timeline to keep track of what needs to be worked on and when. It gives a week/month/quarter/yearly overview to help you make decisions on what needs to be added or rescheduled in the current projects. Build interactive roadmaps for products and campaigns internally or for your customers. Easily rank the progress of your current and future work.

Using the new view you now can:

  • Display, create, or reschedule any type of work items from any view (week, month, quarter, year).
  • Show or hide sub-items and week numbers.
  • Filter items you want to see in each view.
  • Share your timeline internally and externally by creating public links.

How can you enable the new views?

You can find all the views in Wrike Labs. When you enable the set of new views from Wrike Labs the new views will be added to your current views as an additional set (the New Board view, New Table view, Calendar view).

The views can be enabled on the individual user level. You can always disable the feature and go back to the previous version.

Please share your questions, feedback, or thoughts in the comments - we'd love to hear what you think of the latest releases👇

LOVE the new table. The filters and field access improvements rock!
My new copywriter just this morning tried to move a column in her board and was disappointed to find it wouldn't budge. I mentioned there was a new version of the board and she is very happy.
I have now shared Wrike Labs with my two Wrike early adopters and they are excited to try some new features. Thanks!

Wow, the new views are amazing! <3

@... we missed the option to choose the desired task duration to show in the new Calendar View (the existing calendar functionality has this option). And would be great to have the option to show tasks by their start date as well.

One more thing, the option to export isn't present in the new Table View, it will show up eventually?

Thanks

Turning on now! Looking forward to them!

I looked into the table. The opening of task on the right is a big advantage. For the new custom field view I am not sure. It is different now, but I do not see the advantage. The old view was crouded as you had all custom fields on the screen and you looked through them. Now the custom fields are a list and you have to scroll. It is different but in both cases you have to serach So different, but no advantage.

I am expecting faster loading times (as you suggested), but I have not seen them yet.

The expand / collapse feature you took from the other views now is definitely an advantage.

One disdavantage for the new view: the rows are higher. You get less information on a side. And that is really a big disadvantage disturbing daily work. So does not matter what you do, please take care that a new view at least shows the same amount of information as the old one. Please upgrade the new table view in this respect.

And also one point for the filters: I do not see my predifned filters in the new view.

Hi everyone, thank you so much for the feedback! Since this is only a Wrike Labs release - the features are subject to change and improvements and the team is very much looking for all the feedback, comments, and thoughts on the new views. We'll be sure to let you know as new updates emerge🙋🏻‍♀️

I have noticed that not all the fields from schedule group are available for selection in new table view. I don’t see effort and time spent fields. Also calculated fields based on this does not work in new table view.

This needs to be fixed.

Missing "effort" and "time spent" in the new table view.

I don't see a big difference in the table view but I like the updates to board view. It is very nice to be able to see the subtasks easily.

This is a nice merger of the "List" & "Old Table" view! 🙌 The only thing that would be nice to have with this view is mass editing of tasks. When I have to reschedule dates for multiple tasks, I have to click each individual task or go back to list view in order to change the dates. I do think it is a cleaner look and easier to read than the previous version.

Are these views only accessible to admins for now?  I tried sharing this with a colleague and she couldn't find them. I had her log out and back in and still nothing.

If you click the plus sign at the end of the line of views available, there is a list of additional views. Did she look there?

Eric Sayasene they have to be enabled through Wrike Labs before you can use them. 😊

Kelly R My team is having the same issue. I'm the only one who can see the new views, not even other admins can see it. Any advice? Thanks!

It looks like you have to enable them in Wrike Labs if you haven't yet:

How can you enable the new views?

You can find all the views in Wrike Labs. When you enable the set of new views from Wrike Labs the new views will be added to your current views as an additional set (the New Board view, New Table view, Calendar view).

The views can be enabled on the individual user level. You can always disable the feature and go back to the previous version.

I also recommend logging out of Wrike and logging back in if you don't restart your computer regularly.

Kelly R Logging out and back in doesn't fix the issue.

Kelly R agree with Eric. They've logged out, logged back in, restarted their computers, and tried from web and from app. Still nothing.

Hi Eric Sayasene and Amy Schlabach, thank you both for reaching out. Can you confirm if the users have tried to enable the new Views from Wrike Labs and they still can't see them on their Wrike account? If this is the case, I can raise a Support ticket so our team can further investigate, please let me know 👍

@...

Does each user have to enable it separately?  I thought the Wrike labs was for admins to enable for the org.

Hi! I am trying out the table view mainly. Our team largely uses list view so I am happy to see that the new table view combines table and list. One functionality that I am missing or can't seem to get to work is dragging fields & copy/pasting. One of the huge advantages of table view was the excel like functionality where you could drag a custom field down and populate everything. Or do the same for Assignee. Will this be added or will that functionality no longer exist?

I like how the board view looks now as I am just setting a workflow up for another team and it will mainly use board view and custom item types. Huge win to see the subitems below but also able to collapse those. Also love that it doesn't pop up over the top but loads from the side similar to the new table view.

Hi Eric Sayasene, each user needs to enable the views separately from Wrike Labs.

Hi, Devree Czupinski thank you for the feedback! The drag and fill option is not available in the New Table View, but our team is considering it as part of future improvements.
