Enable Ability to Reschedule Subtasks Added to Request Forms

I recently read the post announcing that we can add subtasks and subprojects to request forms. However, when adding a subtask, you don't have the option to adjust the task due date. It would be great to be able to reschedule the task as part of its creation from the form.

For example, I have a form that requests ad hoc work from various teams based on the type of tasks needed, as well as template-tized groups of tasks corresponding to the form selections. I would love to have these groups of tasks added according to the selection in the form and have the submitter specify due dates so that they are automatically rescheduled. When I tried testing this, the form only duplicated the selected group of tasks using their original due dates - which isn't very helpful.

Please help us get the most out of this recent update!

I completely agree with this. It is great to be able to add subtasks in forms now, but nearly every subtask we have is dependent on the original task. If there was a way to grab the subtask dependency from the blueprint (if available), that would be awesome!

I just spoke with Wrike support about this same topic - We need to be able to assign actual due dates to any subtasks created in a request form. Start dates and subtask assignees would be nice, too, but having a due date would be our MVP request. Thanks!

Not only the due date but other Details should be editable. For us the most important thing would be to be able to adjust the title of the selected Subtask.

Really looking forward to more improvements to request forms!

Hello - just popping in here to add some additional interest in this area.

We use Blueprints heavily in setting up projects and scheduled tasks within our internal workflow across multiple teams but missing the ability to reschedule Blueprint tasks based on it's project date(s) is a critical function we need in order to successfully work with our external teams.

Looks like this topic has been explored for a while; I'd be happy to share some use-cases we have to help better paint the picture of necessity for our organization, just let me know.

What I realized in thinking about this further and in setting up some new forms after leaving my previous comment is that I share in the same value between scheduling sub-tasks as I do sub-projects.  I was building a form to pull from multiple Blueprint projects, and what I realized is I had to force the user to choose ONE path in my form that would result in a link to a singular project to control the overall project start and finish dates.

However, I feel with the leverage we can get from properly implemented Blueprints, we could easily set up fairly complex projects that are pulled from very simple forms by allowing the independent sub-project dates align within themselves by asking the user to provide that/those dates.

So, choosing whether the overall project gets a set of dates based on questions set up on the form or not, and then also being able to request the submitter provide dues dates that re-align the Blueprint project (and corresponding tasks within it like what we can do manually inside our spaces) so that those independent projects can be driven separately, possibly from different people on the team.

Not sure if the overall project would HAVE to align with the first/last date given the form otherwise but that seems the most logical next step if necessary.
