[Status: Investigating 🕵️♀️] Code formatting in task descriptions

Maybe Wrike team takes the same time to load a task description to make a feature.
Ok, just creating the same post because the original one the comments was closed.
Could you please enable users to format text in both descriptions and comments as code? Similar to applying the <pre> and <code> HTML tags, any text a user formatted as code would be displayed in a monospace font with long blocks contained within a scrollable element.
Suggested mechanisms for implementation include:
- Dropdown selections in the GUI for code formatting.
- Single tick marks for inline code formatting, e.g., `code`
- Triple tick marks to demark the start/end of a code block, e.g., ```multi-line code block```
Bonus points for:
- Code syntax highlighting.
- Full support of the Markdown syntax.
I would like my support for code formatting in descriptions to be passed to the team, Lisa.
Done Toby Curtis. Welcome to the Community 🙂

Absolutely shocked this is not a feature in 2021. I can't believe I had to Google this and find out this is basically ignored for 3+ years.
Thumbs down from me for any future projects in Wrike.
Welcome to the Community, Miks Kalnins! Thank you for sharing your feedback here, it's been passed on to the Product team. Please let me know if I can help you with anything else.

Also here to show that more teams need this. As a Programmer/Project Manager I have to ask a text wall here, to hopefully bridge the gap between us (the consumer) and y'all (Wrike).
We know you guys know about this. I'm even willing to grant that y'all are still interested in adding this, and maybe it's just never hit priority. I'm sure you use your own product and your development team would be happy to see it. The question people here are trying to ask is why haven't we heard anything? Giving you the benefit of doubt and credit to the product what has prevented this more than just other priorities or rather what are those priorities?
Is popularity the only/biggest metric for adding a feature? Is there some other, more swallowable, explanation? Even after reading the post on the first page about how the Product feedback works, I have no concrete answer, or ballpark of what's coming or when. Is there some technical hurdle to adding this if you can already do such a thing in comments? I can't imagine that the dev group at Wrike doesn't want this, and I equally can't imagine that wherever the management is on what gets in is just flat ignoring size of a change just because it's not as popular as another request that is way bigger. Seems like this could be what we call in the industry a "quick win" as far as any of us outside can see. So what has been preventing this for all these years?

@... Thanks maybe? This is the exact type of canned answer that I was hoping to avoid. This is just frustrating, and a perfect example of the "black hole" of feedback that everyone mentions in some of the other articles linked here...

@... That does fill in a lot of gaps! Thanks a ton for the response! Unfortunately means we'll probably not see this function but it's helpful to know the community is the biggest metric. I'll get my team to start voting on things :p
Really appreciate you taking the time to respond to this, you're really showing that your team listens and I'll be sure to pass on the word!
This will be a great feature to have, +1 from me.
This would be a really useful feature for our team. +1
Our team would also like to see this feature
@... how do we "vote" for this feature? Do we need to "like" the post or comment on it?
Huh? Im really surprised right now that wrike does not support this basic feature. How to report bugs on software development projects that include various console outputs. I dont want to comment them after the fact.

another +1 here. absolutely insane that 4 years later, this feature is still not even on your dev roadmap.
Honestly, I wish my company would stop using Wrike and switch to something better. But since that doesn't seem like it will happen anytime soon...
Wrike, can you just implement this heavily requested feature? You've disregarded this request and lied about either 1. considering implementing it, or 2. being capable of doing it. I'll give your workers the benefit of the doubt and assume it's the former, because this functionality wouldn't take long to add. And it's already available in comments.
Don't bother responding to this comment: either add code formatting to task descriptions or admit that you really don't care about it.
Hello everyone! My name is Karina, I’m a Product Manager at Wrike responsible for the task view.
First of all, thank you all for your support for this feature suggestion. My team has been monitoring your feedback as well as the vote count here and this Community suggestion has been on our radar for a while now.
Сode formatting in task description is something we would like to support in our product, especially seeing the interest from you here. The Product team together with the development team have spent a significant amount of time researching all of the possible approaches for us to introduce this feature in the product. Unfortunately, the research showed that it is a complex solution that would require more resources and time than are currently available.
I wanted to take the opportunity to share some detail on the main focuses of my Product unit at this time. . You may have already seen that the first version of Work Templates has recently been released in Wrike Labs. Work Templates are the next generation of Blueprints that bring more customization to your day-to-day work. You can check out more on this release in this Community post.
We are also supporting various initiatives which aim to improve current functionality like new automation features and performance improvements.
Having said all that, I understand that the lack of short-term plans to support code formatting in task descriptions is disappointing. Please rest assured that we’ll keep this suggestion on our radar and will explore other opportunities to work on this in the future. Unfortunately, we can’t commit to releasing every suggestion on the Community, but your feedback is always part of the discussion. There’s a detailed post here that explains our processes with Community feedback.
I have mentioned the release of the Work Templates above. Some of the types of work items that can be created as templates are development-related, for example, User Stories. We are planning to investigate the possibility of introducing code formatting for these types of use cases in the future, although there are no concrete plans at the moment, so for now, I’ll ask the Community team to add the “Not planned” status here. We will let you know if we have an update for you in the future.
Thank you again for voicing your feedback and supporting this idea!

We would like to see this feature as well. It is critical for Product Dev teams to have access to this feature in both descriptions and comments.
