Mass Update on Project Status

Hi Lauren, thanks for posting the suggestion here! Mass Editing isn't available for Project attributes, and while it isn't something on our current roadmap, I appreciate that you posted the idea here. It always helps to learn a bit more about workflows, and I'd love to hear about the use cases when Project attributes need to be updated in bulk, as well as how many typically need these updates. Hey Anastasia, thanks for responding so quickly to my request. My team goes through over 200 projects a month ranging from big to small, once we are finished a project we archived it but I don't always have the chance to go through and complete all the sub-projects & parent projects. When I have time during the week I try to stay as up to date as possible to make sure that I mark all projects statuses as "Complete" or "On Hold" or "Cancelled" but there have been where it takes me over an hour to mark all of these projects with the current statuses. It seems like an easy fix since all tasks have a mass edit, projects could too.

I know some other PM systems that have an algorithm that actually completes the project once all of the tasks inside are finished. Is that something that Wrike would think about too? It would save me time so that I can focus on the projects in trouble versus the projects on time and being completed.

This info is helpful, I agree that it would make sense to have a quick way of updating statuses when there are that many Projects, especially since it takes so much time to go through all of them. hi any update on this request? I face the same problem. My teams handles 300+ project globally and we need to be able to update project statuses without having to go through them one by one. Please let me know if you have an update on this matter. Thanks

Is there anything on the roadmap for this? Especially with custom project statuses the need to mass edit at the project level will be soooo helpful. 

Agreed, Just did a major overhaul of our workflows and backlogging project status corrections is a major task currently.

Yes, this function would be most appreciated, even if it is an export and reimport via Excel pr CSV file.

I would  like o request this function as well. We are trying to get projects that were entered with older project status categories updated to the  new project status categories. Thank you!

Would like to echo these sentiments. Being able to mass edit projects similar to how tasks are mass editable would be invaluable. Given Wrike's lag when making the change on just one project and then navigating back to a dashboard to find the next task that needs changing has become a massive undertaking as we revise workflows.

Hi I would like to add that it would be great to be able to mass edit Project as can be done in the List View for Tasks. It would also be good to have the Project Filter added to the list view as it is in the Table View.

Hi Lisa, Can we look at whether there's been multiple posts here and there regarding this issue. At a quick glance, I noticed that there are similar posts about it. Maybe (just maybe), we're over by 60 votes already. 

I get that we have to wait for 60 votes to get this on queue, but maybe some people just don't have time to complain about it, and quickly move on to another impediment. I do think this should be a core feature, not only with tasks, but also with projects and spaces. 

I can understand that, perhaps, the intention (of not having this feature) is to ensure that users put their undivided attention to each project. But often times, we're responsible for more than 20 projects, and it is really painful to click on every single item, just to update the narrative status. It will take us hours just to go through all of it. And when the network speed slows down, it becomes all the more painful. 😑

You're right that there might be similar threads here on the Community, but unfortunately, we can't merge them together currently. 

As this thread is very close to the 60 votes' threshold, I've asked our team to provide an update here. They do have plans to research this, so I should be able to provide more info in Q2 or Q3 👍

How is this an option even after so many years? Do people manage like 5 projects a year? Here we are talking about 100s of projects, to be requesting this feature is unreal. This should be a 100% built in. Disappointed!

Hi all,

i had the same challenge to mass-edit all project status in a folder and found at least a workaround.

1. Select table view
2. Change the status of the first project
3. Select this cell, wait for the mouse pointer cross and drag the value of the cell down to the following cells (see screenshot)
4.  Done

Maybe this will help one or the other.

HI Oliver, I just tried your idea as it sounds like a great solution but when you change the first tasks status it moves from being the first one so cannot drag down from it.... ? How did you get it to stay in the row where it was in the table view. 

Hi Jacqueline, you need to pick exactly the little blue dot on the right down corner and move the mouse down to the elements, you would like to change.

Please have this added to the roadmap as an urgent request - seems like it would be a basic function.
