Until the New timeline is usable (ie. when Shift + click/drag works for creating new tasks) I'm using Old timeline and the font is both too small + unclear (bad kerning and soft rendering).

Are you aware of the Custom Workflow feature? You can create as many different statuses for tasks as you want, so you're not just limited to Active, Complete, Cancelled, etc https://help.wrike.com/...
