How can I make a custom field only available to certain people?

I swear I was able to do this previously. I had custom fields set up for a specific team a couple years ago and I was able to customize who on the team was able to see the fields since they were specific to a group of people. I'm with a new company now and on a different account, and I can't seem to figure out how to make those fields available to only certain people. Was this a feature that was discontinued, or am I overlooking it?

I was just looking at this yesterday!

In custom field management, set the field as "Belongs to entire account." Then share with specific users:

Anna Wallace Thank you!!! We have the custom fields set to a specific space, and I see you have to set it to the entire account in order to set specific users. That was helpful, I appreciate your quick response.
