[Wrike Templates] Creative Development 💡

Hi Community! 😊

Today’s highlight in our Wrike Onboarding Templates series is the Creative Development template.

Using Wrike’s Onboarding Templates

Account owners and admins on Business and Enterprise accounts and account owners on Professional accounts can access the Onboarding Templates gallery through Wrike Assistant.

Launching a template from the gallery creates a ready-to-use space in your account that consists of sample folders, projects, and tasks and may include additional work items and tools like Request Forms, Workflows, Custom Fields, Dashboards, and more.

Creative Development

This template helps you streamline your creative development process - from work intake to tracking results. Here’s the summary of what the template has to offer:

  • A request form to get campaigns off the ground
  • A folder structure with projects and tasks to categorize your work
  • A custom workflow tailored to the needs of a creative development team
  • Dashboards to monitor campaigns

Step 1: Organize intake

The Creative Development template provides a sample Request Form. It can be accessed by users in your account from the green plus button at the top of the Workspace. Share the form with anyone (even if they're not in your Wrike account) by creating an external link. Once the form is filled out and submitted, a new task will appear in your intake folder.

Take a look at the details and ensure all the necessary information has been provided for your team to start the task. Cross-tag the request and add it to the relevant campaign folder or any other folder as needed.

📍Tip: Request Forms can be customized by Account admins from the Settings.

Step 2: Kickstart your workflow

Remove the project from your intake folder to initiate the next stage of creative development. The sample folder structure contains folders categorized by clients. You can rename these folders or create new ones.

📍Tip: This template also provides you with other grouping examples - you can categorize incoming creative development requests by clients, asset types, campaigns, or channels. You can also add other categories and use them as tags for your work.

You can use the pre-made Custom Workflow to update task statuses and track progress. All sample tasks and projects in this template will have this workflow by default.

📍Tip: Account admins can edit the statuses from the Settings menu > Workflows:

Step 3: Manage assets

It’s important to keep track of your creative assets as they move through the various stages of development - from “Design” to “Review” to “Completed.” View this information at a glance with the pre-created Dashboards that you can find in the Tools section of the Creative Development space.

We hope this deep dive into the template will help you kick start your creative development process in Wrike quickly 🏃‍♀️

We need to look at Dashboards more to help us with progress and priorities.

Thanks, Kevin Thalacker, Aloi Calvert! I think the dashboards that are pre-made for this template are particularly useful.

Really like a lot of the above - using Dashboards as well as rethinking about the way we are using our Workflow too to reflect the type of work being completed!

I also like the idea of using a shared dashboard to monitor progress!

Nice view into a field not my main topic, but good to look beyond one's own nose

Nice! I can see this option in my personal account, but I'm not seeing it on our dada admin account. Any tips?

Very useful template! :-)

I've created request forms with more options/fields:

  • Checkboxes to choose the type of request (social media, ads campaign, site update, etc).
  • Start and end dates (we don't really need the start date in the form, but if not informed the task is created as a milestone and there's no other way to solve this).
  • Request priority
  • Attachments

Besides these, we've made the forms public for anyone with the URL and we use a URL shortener to make it prettier/easy to remember. We use the automation to make the tasks created by the forms go to the client's monthly project. But we have to adjust it every first day of the month.
