Integration with MS Outlook Calendar

As a new user of Wrike, I would love it if there was a way that I don't have to manage a calendar in MS and timelines & calendars in Wrike. An integration of the two great tools would be soooo awesome! 🤞

Hi Keri, thanks for the feedback. It would be great to hear how this helps so our Product team understands how you'll use this feature?

Hi, Stephen! Our consulting business uses MS Outlook for typical purposes (i.e., meetings, appointments, travel plans). We are also using Wrike for managing our projects and our non-billable tasks. We would like to find a way to not have to use two calendars since many of our Outlook items relate to our Wrike items. So, for example, it would be great if a task (with a definitive beginning and an end) could be selected to appear in our Outlook calendar so that we don't have to look at both programs to determine our availability. If that doesn't make sense, I'd be happy to verbally explain.

Thanks for asking more about my suggestion!!

Keri

Thanks for the further detail here Keri, it really helps.

I'm wondering have you tried the Task on iCalendar feed? How did you find this solution?

Hey, Stephen. I hadn't tried the iCalendar feed but just did...so, thanks! However, only "appointments" show when you do this.  Nothing is showing up in the calendar that was imported so I'm curious how to get tasks with start and end points to appear. Also, my hope was that it would integrate with my existing calendar rather than as a separate calendar.

Feels like we're getting close to making this a bit more useful...cheers, Keri

Thanks for getting back Keri. There's no way to have the sync like you've described above but I think the iCalendar feed might be helpful for now.

Our PM team review a Feedback post where we're collecting suggestions around Calendars - it would be great for the Product Team to hear your feedback there too 🙌

We use our tasks to schedule crews daily and would be so helpful if we can schedule times within Wrike. Instead all the task are 1 day duration, pile up and don't have priority over another. I saw that you guys are trying with google mail and this is exactly what I need for outlook. We schedule multiple tasks by time throughout the day. If there a reason why you are only trying google mail? Will you guys get to Outlook?

I have a similar situation with the integration of Wrike Calendars and OutLook calendars.  we are exploring using Wrike as a mechanism to request, monitor and report about time off (including vacation) requests.  I have a prototype running in Wrike using the calendar functionality and filtering options to provide visibility to our various departmental teams and the leadership team.  this prototype is working well in our testing but we too have a issue with managing two sets of calendars (wrike and outlook). in our company Outlook is a driving factor in our daily lifes (emails, meetings, events etc) and with the adoption of Wrike in various departments, they still don't want to have to manage two separate environments.

having said all of this, i see there is some integration with email notifications, the outlook integration app (for more current releases of MS Office , we are currently running 2010) but i have not seen any mention of the integration and syn of calendars.  Our concept still is to use wrike to request and monitor time off but our leadership team would like to be able to see the time off requests integrated into the outlook calendar.  is this possible?  is there any more documentation on the subject ?

in this community thread i see something about iCalendar feeds but the link is not valid. where can i find info on this subject

Hi all, the team continues to collect your feedback at the post I mentioned above. Although it's not on the short-term roadmap it's certainly something they're collating now for when they review Calendars and possible integrations in the future.

Thanks 🙂

The inability to add an event to my Outlook calendar and thus set a reminder is a big negative.  The inability to set a due TIME on a task is also a negative.  I don't want to use multiple calendars in multiple applications.  I want to integrate with a central calendar.

Same here, it would be very useful to sync Wrike calendar with MS Outlook calendar!

Agreed, I'd love to see my projects due in an outlook calendar as well. They do still need to be private though.

Thumbs up for this feature too.

I have, however, enabled integration with Google Calendar and created a subscription for it in Outlook. Which kind of works.

Rodrick - Hello.  I saw the google calendar integration, but it was part of the subscription to Wrike Integrate.  Is there another area where I can do this without the Integrate subscription?  Thanks,

Jeffrey

I actually found it on my own, so nevermind Rodrick.  It's in Google Labs, not in apps and integration.  I agree, it kind of works since you can add a task to your calendar, but it doesn't automatically add a task when it is assigned to you.  I'll take this workaround for the time being, although it seems that a free direct integration would be beneficial.

Echoing all the above comments, We would really like an MS Integration so that we can take our Corporate Marketing Calendar and align with our Project management tool to better track conflicts.

Our team also requests this a lot. We would really like to have the integration in order to be able to make current tasks and projects visible in our Outlook calendar. Would add a lot of value to our Wrike!

Same here, if it's not integrated soon we will look into alternatives. Such a function is mandatory. Thanks in advance for increasing priority.

Adding my name to the clamouring throngs. I schedule tasks and projects in Wrike and then open Outlook to schedule the same thing. And if the status in Wrike changes, such as successfully assigning a certain worker to an previously unfilled job, then it is back to Outlook to change the status of that calendar entry too.

Agree - we would love for the Wrike Calendar to align with our Outlook calendar. Would be so much more efficient for our teams!

Hi Wrike Product Team,

Our organisation uses Wrike heavily for planning and scheduling project work in our teams. One of the significant pain points we are experiencing is that because outlook calendar's are not integrated, there is duplication and a lack of visibility across the organisation when managing resourcing.

What we are simply looking for is a way for Wrike tasks with a start date and end date (duration) and "assignee" to have the option (on a per user basis), to be integrated with our outlook calendars?

I note that there is a Google Calendar integration being trialled at the moment within Wrike (https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/articles/214413365-Google-Calendar-Integration).

I find it hard to believe that this trial has not been extended to businesses using outlook, which represent a significant portion of the market!!?? Can you please look at adding this into your roadmap as a priority as many of the other Wrike community here are calling out as well?

Thanking you in advance! We look forward to a solution addressing this opportunity very soon.

Cheers!

One more request here to get Wrike/Outlook calendar integration!

Thanks

Another vote for this integration. I'd like to see a two way sync between outlook calendar and Wrike tasks for the purposes of time tracking. It's difficult to know how much capacity our team has if their meeting time isn't accounted for in the Workload tool. It's also unreasonable of me to ask them to enter their meetings manually. If it's possible to have meetings scheduled in Outlook appear as tasks with time and effort matching the length of the event, that would be very helpful!

I am needing Outlook Calendar integration as well. This is the only way we can work from Wrike calendars. Without it, using 2 different calendars is a bit ridiculus. Also, what about a time in the calendar? You have dates, but no times to put in tasks. This would be much more effective with those 2 changes.

We just had a team meeting, and while we are growing our adoption and use of Wrike... we are discovering that since people use OUTLOOK as the time-driver for what they are doing in a day (meetings, work, appointments, etc..) the calendar in Wrike has become useless as it is NOT date-driven by comparison.  People work on ONE calendar and that is the one tied to their email and for 99.9% of corporate America that is outlook.

Not having a sync between the two is completely short-sighted.  And as much as we love the product, this explains why our data in Wrike is useless as it quickly becomes outdated and keeping up with any dates is near impossible... since we use OUTLOOK CALENDAR to run our business.  :(
