Importing projects from Excel - multiple tags
I'm importing 132 projects into a folder and all is working well, including even custom fields. The documentation is very good in this respect.
However, we tag all of our projects in multiple locations to make them easier to find for different people with different roles.
The import from Excel process only allows you to tag the project in the folder you are importing to. I'd like to have the ability to tag it in more than one folder during the import process.
The alternative is to import them once, then go through all of the projects individually adding the extra folder tags, which is very time-consuming.
Hi Tony,
Sorry, we missed this. Hopefully, you found the answer, but I'll post here anyway.
So to add the Folder to multiple Folders from an Excel import you can refer to this help article.
Let me know if this helps 👍
Thanks Stephen. That's great. I'll give that a go.
I tried to do this but importing will only create new folders, not add to or tag an existing one. I wish this could be addressed. I took this to the help team via a chat and the only workaround given was to import to one folder and then use mass edit to tag those new tasks to another folder. Is there any new progress on this. How do we get this one noticed and voted on?
@Ryan Hi, thanks for reaching out! You're right, currently you can't tag existing folders in Wrike, only create new ones upon XLS import and then include tasks in several new folders. I can see that you've created a similar post, but as this one has more votes, let's try and refer people here if you don't mind 🤝

upvote here! We sometimes add over 100 tasks and use multiple folders often to tag tasks across offices
looking to do something similar too.

Hi Lisa
Do you know if any progress has been made on this one? 🙏
I'm hoping to tag a task in multiple projects from an excel import.
Thanks,
Amy

Any news on this? Same problem here: we want to add a specific task to more than a hundred projects...

My current use case doesn't require matching to existing folders, but I can't see the method for creating multiple new folders to add tasks to as Stephen mentions above when linking to the help article.
The best I can see there is formatting for sub-folders, which is a different thing.
Hi Samuel Karvonen, new folders/projects are created in the location that is opened when you import an Excel file. For instance, by opening an existing Space/Folder/Project and importing the file from the screenshot below, I can create three new folders there:
If you have something else in mind, please feel free to elaborate on your use case so that we could suggest further. Thank you!
Adding my vote to this one! Just discovered a need for this today.
I'm importing dozens of tasks into an existing IT project, but I'd also like to tag it to a specific folder that we use as a Scrum backlog so the tasks are immediately available to align to upcoming sprints.
I'll use the mass edit workaround, but this would be such a nice to have, especially for breaking down large cross-team projects so the right pieces show up in the different team Spaces. :)
Thank you for adding your vote Daisy Hibbard! 👍
