Hey Noel, thanks for your post! We continue to work with Slack to enhance our existing integrations. If there's any changes or new enhancement in this area we'll be sure to update you.

As always, keep an eye on the Weekly Release Notes section for all new updates 👍

I made a comment about Slack's great new Actions function in a different thread (this one https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/115003359909-Slack-integration) but have since found Noel's feature request here.

Stephen (Wrike Team) have you added to the roadmap integration with Slack's "Actions"?

This would be far superior to Wrike's current Slack integrations.

This is what I posted in the other thread:

+++++++++++

Building on the comment/request above by Greg Shortreed (HQ) re "I would get a lot of use out of being able to create a Wrike task from Slack that references the Slack conversation I am currently in, and in a way that later, Wrike links me back to the Slack conversation for reference."...

... Slack has just released Custom Actions for Messages (see this intro Turn your conversations into action page and their Custom actions for Messages info for developers) which would be the perfect way to be able to create Wrike tasks from a Slack message and have a link back to the source (a la the way the Gmail Gadget works, which is awesome).

As an example, we use a knowledge management app called Guru and they already have some cool Custom Actions in Slack (see this Introducing Slack Actions for Guru blog post) where users can create 'cards' in Guru and also search on 'cards' in Guru without leaving the Slack conversation. For Wrike, just think 'cards' instead of 'tasks'. You could have a dialog appear in Slack that prompts for all the required task info re Title, Assignee, Date Range, Description, etc. Then... if the newly created task automatically included a link back to the Slack message...

...boom!

:)

Thanks in advance for revisiting Noel's suggestion!

Dear Wrike-- You did it! Great work :) I'll consider this now closed.

Hi guys, It's great to see the "Create task (Wrike)" action now in Slack, but it is missing two important features:

  1. The Wrike task does not include a hyperlink back to the Slack comment. This is essential for context — Wrike's Gmail gadget does the equivalent of this, in that it links back to the original email from which the Task was created.
  2. The "Folder/Project (optional)" dropdown only allows selections from Starred folders or projects? I'm guessing this design is intended to avoid delays from having to load the full list of folders and projects? If so, that's a pity because this means that the Task cannot be fully created in Slack — there's always a necessary second step to click through to the newly created Task in Wrike, in order to put it in the appropriate folder or project. This greatly reduces the efficiency of this Wrike Slack action.

Great to see "v1.0" of this Slack action.

But can you evolve it to v1.1 to include the two above features please?
