Re-assign to Job Role or un-assign in Automation

Hi,

I am wondering if there is a way to either assign a job role or un-assign a task during an automation.

Short story: In our workflow, when a task is changed to a certain status, I want to re-assign to the job role so that team can pick up the task from the backlog.

Currently, I can only see option to re-assign to a user.

Even just re-moving current assignee would help me. I can work around with no assignee.

Hello Guillaume Morency, currently, you cannot assign a task to a job role using Wrike Automation but you can use the action @mention. When you click on add action and select add comment or mention you will see the option for picking a specific user or group.

Please let me know if this helps 🙋🏻‍♀️

Hi @...,

Thank you for your answer, I'm already using that functionality and it's working well.

But the problem is while I inform the correct team, the task stay assigned to the previous person rather than transferring.
My only option is to choose 1 "scape goat" from the team and re-assign to that person which is not ideal.

As said above, even just removing the previous assignee would be good. But since you can assign a job role in the task, I can't imagine it's hard to implement in automation...

Upvoted this feedback. It seems like expanding the "Assign item to" Automation Action to include Job Roles as an option would be a pretty straightforward implementation for the Wrike product team and would unlock very useful functionality.

Any more concrete information about the roadmap on this?

For us, not being able to assign a job role as a default assignee to a CIT is a huge headache.

Achieving the same thing with an automation "when new CIT created, assign XYZ job role" would be a work-around that should be straightforward for Wrike to implement and help us all out?

Then at least until CITs (both task and project types) get up to parity with legacy tasks/projects and can have job roles assigned to them by default, we can at least not lose this powerful functionality of Job Roles that is the current situation when a user creates a new CIT.

Hi Angela Kennewell, thanks for checking in here!

In short, not at the moment, but thank you for sharing your feedback and use case here - it's really helpful and it's been passed on to the team. If we do have any updates to share here on this functionality we'll be sure to update the thread. In the meantime, if there's anything else we can help with, please don't hesitate to ask 👍
