I need a Custom Field type to be "Link" whereby a HTML link becomes clickable.

Example Custom Fields:

Google Drive Folder

URL

etc

Currently, one must use TEXT type field, and manually copy/paste the HTML link.

Hey Community,

I just came here in order to request the Hyperlink feature within custom fields and was happy finding an already existing pinned thread about exactly that. What makes me rather unhappy is to read that this was reported 4 years ago and obviously is highly requested by everyone here ever since. Some users even mentioned that they will consider your competitors. Similar applications have even fancier customizable field/features. We are simply talking about a every trivial function that is a hyperlink which is existing since the internet.

You guys have a AI based feature that is suggesting tasks on my Wirke-Homepage, WOW! I'm very sure that you can also have hyperlinks within customizable fields.

It would be really helpfull to get the typ "Link" for Custom Fields!

We use extern software like a ticket system or figma, where all the layouts are designed.
It would be great to open the links by one click, without need to copy the whole content of the field.

I ran into this limitation today and ended up on this feed searching for a solution.

I can't stress enough how important it is to be able to create custom fields that function as links as this is an industry-standard feature available in most tabular PM systems (Asana, Air Table, etc.). This allows for interoperability with workflows that exist outside of Wrike and is a must-have for our team.ย 

Greatly looking forward to an update.

Cansuย ๐Ÿ˜ข that's the standard answer that we get since 2018... really disappointing for indeed an industry standard feature.

This is soooo easy to start with. It could be the most simple feature to implement at least a starting version. It's mind boggling it takes sooooo long to even consider and put on a product roadmap.

Example of 2 custom field definitions:

Done.
As a first version, this woud help so much.

Really, really disappointing.

I've done a little research on this thread, and it looks like the product team has so far only had four years to research the deep complexities inherent in this feature request. ย It's looking increasingly likely that it should only take a few more years for them to complete their research.

Hopefullyย Cansuย can confirm or deny this hypothesis.

Hello everyone, thank you for posting and supporting this suggestion. This suggestions' status was updated to "Investigating" in February, reflecting the current research by our Product team on the possibility of introducing Custom Field HTML links.

Please allow me to give a little background on the Product Feedback process for clarification, you can find further detail in this Community article as well. The Product team considers information and metrics from various channels when deciding what to work on next. This includes all relevant data, user feedback, and Community suggestions/votes. The priorities decided by the team always aim to focus on implementing the functionality that will have the widest impact and benefit for the most users. Although we'd love to be able to implement all of the suggestions we receive, we have to prioritize certain requests over others based on various factors and considerations at the time.

However, the good news here is that this idea is currently being researched by our Product team. The research period is dependent on the course of the investigation and for that reason, I don't have any ETA to share with you just yet. I will, however, be sure to update the thread when I have more news to share.
