[Status: Launched ๐] Color attribute with custom fields
ย I would like to be able to highlight custom fields with a color attribute to show various conditions. In particular, I am looking to have a color attribute with a drop down field selections. When a person looks at a custom field on a screen or report, it is highlighted with the appropriate color attribute. It is easier to highlight various conditions with color to help people to find information versus reading through text.
Hi Kevin, I'm a big fan of color-coding, so I definitely appreciate this suggestion. We'll direct other people here if we hear any similar requests :)

Please make this happen! Our team requires dozens of custom fields under each folder and colour coding would increase efficiency greatly!

This would be a very useful feature, especially on large projects with many tasks!ย To take it one step further, maybe functionality could be added to allow for sorting of tasks by color.ย This would enable grouping of high priority tasks for immediate attention.
This would be a huge PLUS for me to expand Wrike and use it with my full team.
I have previously trialled Asana and they have this feature.

Asana also has an option so you can add custom fields on the List view and filter them.

@Chris Hi Chris, just wanted to make sure you knew about how to filter tasks by Custom Field on the List View. You can click the filter icon, then you'll see Custom Fields at the bottom of the filters panel. Let me know if you were looking for something else though.ย

Yes please to all of the above; really need to see phases easily within a project list view. As it isn't poss to sort tasks with a subhead (would be great if we could), colour coding tasks would help. At the mo, I am using a custom field to indicate a phase statusย but actually it's a workaround, because you then have to filter out the condition to see it in the list view :-(
What I really would like to see is to sort all tasks under a project in list view by phases. Thus need more options on the sort options โ such as ย the default sorted by week (not that helpful for our org).

Use case is that I have 6 Task Categories (which I use a dropdown custom field to sort) for my 70+ tasks in a backlog folder, but I want to be able to visually distinguish those 6 categories for skimming and to help things feel more grouped.
I don't want to use more folders / sub tasks so that items can be equally reachable in the Kanban board view.
Also, I will use custom field data to make different columns in a dashboard.

How is this not a feature after almost 3 years discussing it?ย
I can't label priority on tasks and see green for low, yellow for med, and red for high etc. This is like as basic as it gets.
I have 3000 tasks to manage and cannot see what is important by just using a filter - we're human beings we use color and design to dissect and process information. Please add this extremely, extremely simple and important feature. Def a deal breaker for me.
i completely agree- how is this NOT a feature.ย As a project manger of multiple projects- I need a simple way for my team to be able to flag tasks as Red/Yellow/Green so at a glance we can see how a particular project is doing or if it is in trouble.ย

I think I read somewhere that once a comment gets 40 up-votes, it gets elevated to product development team?ย we recently are trying this work around for flagging out tasks and getting a visual - created a custom field with drop-down menuย

The feedback is passed on to the Product team and I'm checking with them regularly to see how it goes. Right now, the team are planning to research using colors to highlight content in different work views. This research might also include custom field color-coding. I'll be checking with the team again closer to Q3. I'll let you know once I find out more!ย

Wrike is about the only tool I've seen nowadays that does not have this. ย Kudos to you guys for getting more color in the mix in other areas, but Custom Fields are badly missing it. ย In the Table view you can really feel this. ย I'm really hoping Custom Fields will get some visibility in the List View soon as well, at that point it would be all but requisite that they have colors.
So please add another huge +1 to this request.
