[Status: Investigating ๐ต๏ธ] Add future time frames in Dashboard filters
Hi! We've been advised to add a product feedback in regard to a question we had.ย
In order to easily display incoming tasks in our board meetings, we currently have to use custom time frame filters in Dashboards (i.e.: tomorrow-next 90 days). This implies that for the next meeting, we'll have to customize another Dashboard filter with the new time frame.
I understand that current filters such as "last month" and "this week" are automatically updated, so as to show the intended information. Our suggestion is to add a "next month" (we'd rather have a "next three months", but that's just a nuance) which will enable widgets to automatically update and show incoming tasks.
Hope this makes sense. Please, let us know if further clarification is needed.
Best,
Agustin
Hi everyone, thanks for your continued support here.
I just wanted to let you know that the suggestion is currently not planned. I'll keep bringing this topic up and let you know if I have any news from the team. In the meantime, thank you for commenting; we're still very interested in your use-cases and all the feedback here will be passed to the team.
@Guido that's weird ๐ฎ Please let me know if that is still happening - we might need a Support ticket here. Thanks!

I agree with Guido, a customizable field would be great!
I don't understand how this can possibly go unaddressed by Wrike @Lisa from Wrike!
It seems like another example, of many, of how Wrike would rather go build a new feature you can charge for instead of solving the frustrations of your current users!!
It's like you all don't understand the cost of customer churn - it's much cheaper to keep us than to acquire new customers.
Please ask your Product Team to throw us a bone here. I am our organization's Wrike champion. I am repeatedly finding that my data is trapped in Wrike in an unusable form because I can't create views of it (via Dashboard Widgets, Reports, etc) that let me USE it in ways I need. Others are noticing this too, as they are pushed to adopt Wrike. It's becoming harder and harder to justify the large expense of Wrike when our users get frustrated and point out how easy some of these frustrating things would be in competing systems they have used.
Please recognize: You are managing our data for us - you need to give us better data querying tools.
Otherwise the more we use Wrike, the more data there is, the more you'll be failing us!
Not reacting to little requests like this one is like inviting a death spiral.

Cheers to that! I second it wholeheartedly. I tried to get my team to adopt dashboards and this stopped them dead in their tracks.ย
As the original poster of this one, I wanted to point out that the new project status change may be getting lost due to semantics.ย
"Back burner" sounds like a negative.
I totally agree with Jamie on the frustration... But, until Lisa's post, they were doing absolutely nothing. What she's saying is this is now entering the process of being worked on. Maybe nowhere near as fast as we want, I agree.ย ย
But, there's a process -ย probably with tasks in front of it in their project workflow.ย We want the engine put in... they're still working on the chassis.
Let us know when this is truly off to the races and moving fast! Hopefully sooner than later.
Hi there, a quick update: the filter panel enhancements are planned for research in Q1 2020; hopefully, I'll be able to get back to you with more details then. Thank you, everyone, for letting us know what you think!ย

Hi Lisa, any update on how this is going?ย We are also interested in a "last X months" filter (3, in our case).ย Thanks
Hi Jon Zeolla, welcome to the Community!ย ๐
The team is still researching and planning to add this to their roadmap for 2021. There's no ETA at the moment; I'll let you know once I have this info from the teamย ๐

hi Lisa,
Any new on this? Seems to be quite a basic functionality for dashboards?
To be clear, in projects within dashboards more options are available, as Noel also shows, but in tasks these options are not there:

Hi Nils Troll, thank you for reaching out! I'm checking with the team now to see if there are any updates here ๐

So, not that these are nearly enough filters, but I have seen '7 days ahead' and '30 days ahead' as filter options in dashboards now (you do have to scroll down to see them). So... thats pretty great! I would like to be able to have multiple filters selected tho... or just more options. E.G. 'this week' AND '30 days ahead' or even... everything overdue through to 7 days ahead. I have an ugly dashboard with 'last month' in 1 column, 'this week' in another and '30 days ahead' in the last. Oftentimes tasks are repeated in each of these filter groups depending on if it's the beginning or end of the month.ย

I tried to build a workaround using a custom calculated field and hit a roadblock.
The idea is to create a custom field using the formula (Due Date - Today() = Due in x Days).
It works... But you can't use custom calculated fields in lists or dashboards. I was very surprised to learn that. I created a new post about that issue.ย
Anna Wallaceย we had the same problem and made it this way: https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/1500000968021/comments/1500000892741 In this way you can use the number in dashboards.
any news on this? the work arounds are not really supporting daily use.
I'm trying to make a dashboard where it will show the tasks due for the upcoming five days, so we would need a time frame filter that would show e.g.
+1 to +1 showing tomorrow, +2 to +2 that would show the day after tomorrow. Similarly, this could be used to show the previous two days by having it set to -1 to -2.ย
E.g.
Current date: Thursday 12. May
+1 to +1 shows Friday 13. May
+1 to +2 shows Friday 13. May to Saturday 14. May
+2 to +2 shows Saturday 14. May
+/-0 to +/-0 shows Thursday 12. May (today)
-1 to -1 shows Wednesday 11. May
-1 to -2 shows Tuesday 10. May to Wednesday 11. may
This would make the filter much more flexible. than it is today.
Additionally, it could be possible to also select days of the week to show e.g. if you select "next week" (which is not an option now, but as an option to "last week") it could show Monday next week. This could possibly make the dashboard a much greater tool for optimizing the planning of tasks.
Thank you for your detailed feedback here! I'm checking with the team to see if there's an update for this suggestion, and I'll make sure to let you know if there is one ๐

Lisa were you able to get a status update for this feature?
Hi Roxane Carrier, hope you don't mind me jumping in for Lisa. At the moment, the team continues to look into this suggestion. We'll be updating the thread when we have more information๐๐ปโโ๏ธ
