[Status: Investigating 🕵️‍♀️] Duplicate Reports

The ability to duplicate existing reports (ex: quarterly reporting) so that the reported fields remain consistent and all that would need to be changed is the name and time-frame would be great. Alternatively, the ability to create our own report templates could also solve this issue.

@Thread I apologize for the delayed reply here. The team is working to understand this topic a little more and how we can implement a solution. Because they're in the research/analyze phase, there's no release date to share, but if there are specifics around what you'd like to see (that isn't already covered above) those insights would be appreciated.

Thanks for the note Stephanie!  I think this could really be a context menu option to Duplicate Report and it creates a copy that you can then edit OR maybe better, it brings up a dialog box that allows the user to select what is duplicated, to change the name, and what other properties to duplicate. It's just very time consuming to get a new report that looks identical to the existing so that we're presenting consistent information.

Another option to consider is the ability to have custom report templates along the top that we can use to quickly pull a report based on predefined rules. 

Also, Since we're looking at enhancements to reporting - some housekeeping tools would be great. Folders/Tagging to allow us to organize this space would be a life-saver!

Looking forward to enhancements to this area!

Agree 100% with Kelly. If timing is an issue for your release cycle, go with an MVP and focus on a simple clone of an existing report with the ability to edit said clone.

The key is that the product badly needs this functionality.

Greatly needed this basic feature today! So fundamental can't figure out why it's missing!!
Will have to re-invent the wheel for minor changes to existing reports! Needs a serious BUMP!

Hi, a simple duplicate, with the possibility to edit  - like the taks or projects - would be fine to start, as mentionned by so many before. Additionally, the possibility to add a folder structure would help to keep an overview and work even more efficient.

This would be very helpful and a huge time-saver for the team. I make a lot of reports and many people usually ask me for small tweaks or for their own version. Would love if a person can view one of my reports, then duplicate it and make it their own just like you can now for dashboards.

The ability to duplicate existing reports would be a great benefit for our team!  

It just makes it difficult and time consuming to re-create each report to only make a simple filter update, ie: time frame or have the user do it on their end. it would be nice to have the option to duplicate as it would save time.

Another request here for a simple way to duplicate a report.  This will be a giant time-saver for us.  Also, it's obvious that a reports structure is needed.  Too many in a long alphabetical list....

PLEASE ADDRESS THE REPORTING FEATURE - no one read the user comments on the post where exporting was created to SOLVE the reporting issue.  The reporting no. 1 problem is that:

  1. reports need to be customized in many cases via filters or folders for a users specific work.  
  2. not all users understand the configuration of Wrike and the custom report setup needed to create their own report, but they could take an existing report and change the filter to their own project or stuff.
  3. Power Report users dont have time to create duplicate reports customized for individual users for 30 or 100 people. 
  4. People leave the firm and if they are they are report owners/builders, their work on reports is lost

Please add the option for reports that are shared to give the user the ability to:

  • Copy and Edit the Report and save it as their own.
  • Also, for simple reports, add the Current User filter for User fields so that a user would not have to duplicate and edit in simple cases.

I think if you had these features along with a simple categorization of reports, the reporting tool would make a great leap forward.

Hi -- any movement planned on this?  Disappointed to see this is on the backburner :(   If someone can duplicate a shared report and it makes a copy for that person to work with, why can't I duplicate my own report and then change it as needed?  This seems to be an easy stop-gap for the moment.  Please...

This is a must-have to same time across all of our multiple projects and the ability to report back to our stakeholders in a timely manner. Our stakeholders may often receive inconsistent reports due to the regrouping that we may get wrong when creating each report from scratch. Duplicating a report and assigning a new project to this report would be a huge time saver and may help our stakeholders more engaged with Wrike.

@thread - Hi Wrike... qty 117 likes on this request.  Is there any update as to when we might see this come to fruition?  It's really a necessity for any organization that has multiple users and needs to do reporting.  Would appreciate an update on this post.  Thanks!
