[From Wrike] Work Templates Support in Request Forms is Here! ✅
Hi everyone 🤗
As you may know, we recently announced the release of Work Templates in Wrike Labs. Thanks to everyone who tried this functionality and provided early feedback, it helped our team to prioritize future improvements!
We are now very happy to share an update to Work Templates - they are now supported in Request Forms!
A quick reminder that Work Templates allow you to create fully customizable templates based on regular projects and tasks. They can be tailored to the needs of your whole organization or specific departments and teams. You can pre-configure dates, assignees, locations, define workflows, select which custom field to show, and more to create domain-specific work templates like OKRs, user stories, bugs, requests, etc. Finished work templates can be used by account and space users in their future work.
We view Work Templates as the next generation of Blueprints, where Work Templates provide more customization options and can be used on both space and account levels. They are also easier to manage for admins through the template gallery.
Using Work Templates with Request Forms
Being able to use Request Forms in Wrike with Work Templates was the number one piece of feedback the team received (check out some of your feedback on this post), and we’re very excited that this became a reality 🙂
This functionality unlocks the ability to use different pre-configured types of work like tickets, requests, campaigns, incidents and more depending on the request type to create real work easily.
Getting Started
First, you need to make sure you’ve enabled Work Templates from Wrike Labs (account admins and owners can do that for the entire account).
If Work Templates are already enabled on your account, you’ll now be able to select them when creating Request Forms.
📍Tip! You can check out this post for the step-by-step guide on how to create templates.
In the Request Form setting dialogue, under the “Actions upon submission” section, you’ll now see the Create task/project from picker, where Work Templates are listed as one of the options:
Please note that account-level Work Templates are available in any Request Form, and space-level Work Templates are available when the form belongs to a specific space.
We recommend checking out this post explaining how to get the best out of this new functionality. It also contains a detailed guide on how to create the task and project-based Work Templates.
A huge thanks to everyone who’s been providing our team with feedback in relation to this experimental functionality! 🙌
We are excited to hear your thoughts about today’s release! Also, let us know if you have any questions 👇
