[Status: Not Planned] Bullet points in task comments

I think I have seen similar requests but haven’t quite found that there is a request that is the same. Moving from Basecamp to Wrike, something I am really missing is not being able to include bullet points in comments. That would be really helpful for my teams for organizing our comments better. Would love to see other text related features for comments as well, but for now bullet points would be huge!

Hello Will Tullos, and welcome to the Community Molly Weber 👋🏻
 
You can create bullet points in task comments using keyboard shortcuts.
 
If you are a macOS user you can do it by using the keyboard shortcut Option ⌥ + 8.
 
If you are a Microsoft Windows user, you can type a bullet by holding down the "alt" key and typing 0149 (Alt + 0149).

New Wrike user here!

I agree it would be helpful if in addition to being able to use the keyboard shortcuts, we were able to easily indent the list like in a typical bulleted list. Thanks so much for following up on this, Andy!

Thank you so much for your feedback here about adding bullet points in the task comments stream. As Andy Grollmes mentioned above the idea has now over 60+ votes and according to our Guidelines and Statuses calls for a status. I've checked with the Product team and unfortunately, due to other priorities, there are no plans to implement this idea. I understand that this will be disappointing, but rest assured that your input has been shared with the team.
 
To share a bit more detail about our Product Feedback process, explained in this Community post, the Product team works with a wide range of data, user feedback, and Community suggestions/votes to plan their roadmap. The team always aims to focus on implementing the functionality that will have the widest impact and benefit for the most users, and it's for this reason, that we simply can't implement all of the suggestions we receive via our various feedback channels.
 
Currently, the only solution is using keyboard shortcuts which I understand is not straightforward.
 
We will continue to pass on all of your feedback and insights here to our Product Team. If there are any changes in the future in relation to this suggestion, I'll be sure to let you know.

Why should this be implemented?

 

  1. Using lists is essential to organizing thoughts and ideas in your writing
  2. It's so universally used that even the comments in the wrike community support offer the option

Here's what's hilarious, you can even copy/paste bullet points into the comment box in wrike. The text field supports the formatting, they just didn't add the button in the toolbar....
