Second the option to add predefined approvers from Blueprints. Is that on the product roadmap yet?
It would be very helpful to add approvers from Blueprints. I ditto Katie, Is that on the product roadmap yet?
Echoing this sentiment. Approvers from the request is good, but it almost by nature is countermanded by blueprints generated from requests. If I have the start date as the thing that my blueprint is rescheduled from, then it doesn't account for the project approval dates through the request form, i.e. if I set the approval for 5 days in the request form but the tasks are aligned with the start date, then the tasks are going to be due before my approval is set to be completed. If I were to have my first task be an approval, though, that's built into the blueprint then all of the dates could naturally flow through that.
Hi everyone, thanks a lot for your feedback here!
Approvals are now available in Request Forms, and the team have plans to add Approvals to the Blueprints as well. I don't have any ETA currently, but I'll let you know as soon as I have this info.

Yay, that's great news, Lisa! Approvals being able to be in blueprints will be VERY helpful.
Thanks Ella Flansburg! :)

It would be helpful to get some sense of when this will be implemented. Our lives will be much better if we can add approvers in blueprints. Thank you.
Hi Samuel Bull, thank you for this feedback!
I don't have an ETA for you at the moment, but as soon as I do, I'll let you know.
Any update on when approvals might be added to Blueprints?
Currently building a Blueprint to be used for nearly ever project my group takes on (~60 per year). Being able to build in the 10+ approvals at the Blueprint level would be a huge timesaver.
Hi Kelly Winter, and welcome to the Community!
No ETA at the moment here; as soon as we have more information, I'll be sure to provide you with an update.
If you have any other questions, be sure to let me know!
I would like approvers from blueprints also
Thank you for sharing your input here, Kate Collins!
It seems, that approvals can still not be integrated into blueprint tasks ... we would really need this feature urgently (40 user business plan)
Thank you for reaching out, Thomas Winkler! I'm passing on your feedback now! Please make sure to +1 the suggestion above - the votes help the team understand the popularity of the suggestions. More info on that here.

Hi Lisa, is there an ETA on this feature? Would be really useful to have 😄
Hi Kiran Kotecha, welcome to the Community!
I'll check with the team and I'll let you know if there's an update 👍

Hi everyone, is there any smart workaround for this issue? We are creating a very long magazine production template with a huge amount of tasks and several approvals along the way. And since we're adopting this one blueprint for 6 magazines with 12 issues each, it would be a lot of extra work to go into every issue and manually set the approvals. Any suggestions? Thanky a lot and have a great weekend
Hi Michi,
as a workaround we created a specific workflow for our (blueprint) projects and we are using the automation feature.
Activ states: new / in progress / waiting for approval / approved / not approved
Finish states: done
Deferred states: on hold / upcoming
Canceled states: canceled
PS: Our projects are getting initiated via a request form. Specific criterias (checkboxes) within this form are bringing one or more blueprints projects/processes to a live after sending the form.
a) Within the blueprint projects all initial tasks have the state NEW.
b) All following tasks have the state UPCOMING - so these are not disturbing the active tasks views/dashboards/reports of my colleagues ('cause they shouldn't pick up/started to work on this upcoming tasks till prior tasks are done and/or approved!)
c) After a task is finished and has to be approved before it's allowed to set the state of this task to DONE (The instruction to do this is highlighted in red at the very top of the task description in the Blueprint) the state has to be set manually to WAITING FOR APPROVAL
d) Now for exmple a created automation process may pick up this task and is announcing this waiting for approval state to the responsible manager (or the managers are checking all tasks with state waiting for approval on a daily base)
e) After passed approval the manager has to set the state of this task manually to APPROVED
f) Then another automation task is automatically setting the state of the task to DONE (... can be done also manually)
g) After a task get's the state DONE another automation task is then settting the states of all following tasks from state UPCOMING to state NEW.
... and the procedure starts again from the beginning (a) until all tasks are completed / the process is finished.
I hope this ideas will help you till this issue is developed and solved by the wrike dev team.
Hi Thomas,
thanks for your very detailed description. It's a great approach but unfortunately won't work for us. As I understand it you exclusivley work with the status of a task? But we need files to be approved from different people with a date set until when it needs to be approved and also an automated status-change after approving or declining the file. So basically exactly what the approval-process delivers. Automation could be a solution but therefore it needed to offer more options besides moving tasks and changing their status. But again, thanks a lot for your effort...I'm sure I can use this approach on a different workflow.
Hi,
Any update on the ETA for task approvals in Blueprints?
I have the same use case requirement as above, I want to define an approval in a blueprint task and generate new projects via a request form using this blueprint. I want the newly generated project (from the blueprint) to have the approval already established so the collaborator has to click the approval button before they can complete that task. Any ETA is appreciated for my planning purposes. Thanks....
I second Robert's comment above -- any ETA, no matter how vague (e.g., summer, fall, by oct.) would help. Thanks in advance!
Hey Robert Meade, Kelly Winter, thank you for bumping this thread and sharing your feedback here 🤗
I'm checking with the team now to see if there's an update - I'll make sure to get back to you here if I have one 👍

+1
We create all our projects from blueprints, and it's very annoying that we can't embed the necessary approvals in tasks in the blueprints. We have way too many projects to be able to insert the approvals manually where they would be needed, so currently the only solution is that our in-house personnel @-comments to our external agency e.g. "Final PDF approved" in the "Approve final PDF" task. Since we can't build a dashboard that would filter tasks named "Approve final PDF", we also don't have the possibilities of tracking approved/unapproved tasks, like we would have with actual approvals.
For approvals in blueprints, I wish for the option to set a "Project Owner" placeholder as approver. When the project is created based on the blueprint, and the Project Owner is set, that would be automatically reflected in approvals which have the "Project Owner" placeholder. And if the Project Owner should change at some point, that would also be reflected in approvals which have the "Project Owner" placeholder.
Thanks a lot for your detailed feedback Tuomo Suominen! 🙌
This suggestion is on the team's radar, and I'll let you know as soon as I have an update from them 👍

We just successfully accomplished this by creating an approval within the custom workflow we are assigning to the Blueprint. In our custom workflow we created an 'active' workflow status option labeled "Ready for Review". When you click on the 'Ready for Review' option when creating/editing the workflow it gives you the option to create approvers for that status. This, of course, only applies if the list of approvers for your blueprint is consistent, which was our use case. I hope this helps some of you looking for a work around here.
