I've used Wrike in a lot of different ways and custom fields are by far one of the most useful tools Wrike offers. We really need the ability to delete custom fields because the way our company accomplishes things in Wrike is always evolving. We haven't always gotten it right the first time and have made some fields that we really don't want or need. We've also made some duplicates by mistake.
A big part of wrike is the ability to keep things streamlined and focused on the most important details, and this just adds to the clutter. In our office we use the custom fields a lot when leveraging Wrike's API to integrate Wrike with our CRM software. Having duplicate fields made things especially confusing, we had no idea which instance was which.ย
I really hope the product team gives this one a bit of consideration.ย ย
I'd also appreciate this ability with Calculated Fields in reports. The fact that they're global is bad enough. Combine that with not being able to delete them, and they cause a huge issue with clutter especially in larger organizations.
@Steve Thanks for the suggestion! As is got 60+ upvotes, I've added 'Backburner' status to it, which means that our team is interested, but it's not on the short-term roadmap at the moment. I'll let you know when there's an update!ย

Complete deletion of custom fields is a superb feature that can contribute to the standardisation. though,
upon deletion of a custom field there should be the option to replace it with another (of the existing ones) on all the projects/reports/dashboards etc that it is used. This will allow efficient administration and standardisation on complex environments with many advanced users.
To exploit custom fields efficiently and minimise duplication, there should be a description for the use of a custom field. Titles are not always self-explanatory. Searching for the use of a custom field in a project, should allowย search in the description too.

I concur with the other users that this is needed. I have never been a fan of any software or system where once created, never deleted. Whether you created something on accident, as a test, or you just don't need it anymore, not being able to delete is a huge shortcoming. Why on earth can you not delete them?

Adding to the list - I would also find this extremely helpful.ย I tried one of the workarounds mentioned here - renaming the field and assigning it to specific users (none).ย It appears that users still see the renamed fields.ย ย
Such a fundamental function as deleting a field that we created is a huge product gap.ย I'm following this to see when it gets added.
We also are in desperate need of this feature.ย
I would like the ability to see a list of all custom fields in one place, with a descriptor, and which folders/projects they live in. Parent folder/this folder/subfolder is not good enough.
Custom fields are by far one of the most useful tools Wrike offers.

The Product team are planning on adding the ability to delete custom fields without reaching out to Support! For that reason, I've changed the status to "Coming Soon". As soon as I have more information about this feature, I'll be sure to let you know.

We're a new customer and our instance has inherited custom fields created by a "mock user" when we were trialing the product.ย How can I delete all custom fields created by this user?ย Do I still need to log a support ticket.ย When we go live, I don't want our team of champions being able to see/select old custom fields.
