Edward, unless your admin has restricted invitations by domain, you should be able to invite them. Here's a knowledge base article explaining the domain restriction feature.
Agreed, Great article Eric! We use this functionality to interact with SSO for security reasons. It does make collaborators and vendors a bit heavier on the admin sustainability piece though
