Hi Lisa, Great news about editing predecessors in Table View! This is a big step in the right direction. Thanks to the team for adding this capability. Now we just need a few more updates regarding predecessors in Table View.
1) We need to be able to sort by predecessor via the column header.
2) We need the "Cascade Sort" button added to Table View. Currently its possible to view a sorted timeline in Gantt View that can't be reproduced in Table View. The 2 views need to have the same feature set.
If there is another article where I should post this comment, let me know. Thanks again to the team!
Lisa Great work on custom views. I would like to point out that having several basic views visible by default was a major help with enabling this feature.
Custom permalinks and default views are great, I was able to implement a very useful collaborative folder for a big IT team by creating Custom View with "Assigned to Current user" and needed columns of custom fields enabled by default. It would have been a nightmare to set it up for all of them individually. Now all of them can see their folder-specific tasks with all needed details in a personal manner and not mix with everyone else.
Project filters need some attention now in my opinion. Plain option not to show empty project (similar to existing folder option) would be of great benefit. Or ability to change how Project and Task filters interact.
For example, in a table view, I'd like for users to have a custom view to see their tasks and projects (assignees and owner = current user)
but if I filter Projects like that - all tasks in the Parent folder are filtered out.
If I disable Project filter, User will see ALL projects in that folder, regardless of his relation to them. That in time would lead to clutter.
By the way is there any method to know which users have enabled New Experience? I don't want to force them but need to know which teams I need to work with regarding implementation. Would not like to poll ~1000 people needlessly
Thanks so much for your feedback and questions, Phil Ferguson, Admin Bot! 🙌 I've passed them to the team and I'll get back to you as soon as I can 🙂
