Calendar View Based On Custom Date Field
In Calendars object, it would be great to create a calendar that displays tasks based on a custom date field (rather than current restrictions requiring display by Full Duration or End Date).
Alternatively, in Reports object, perhaps enable a calendar view of filtered tasks/projects (rather than current restrictions requiring a table view).
Use Case:
Using a "Live Date" custom date field which identifies when something is published/active in market. This could be used internally with marketing teams, sales teams, and leadership so they can see what's active/in market now and in the future, while still allowing use of Start/End Dates for production purposes.
Hey Dustin Hall, thank you for your feedback! It's been passed on to our Product team, I'll let you know when I have an update for you 😊
I completely agree with this request, and we could also use a feature like this that allows us to build a calendar that displays a custom date field as "Publish Date" and then also utilize the Start/End Dates for internal production purposes. Often times the Publish date is a few days/weeks out from the date that a task has been completed by our internal teams.
Without this feature, I'm not really sure I fully understand what purpose the custom date field has.
Hi Tyler Pierce, thank you for reaching out and supporting this suggestion! I'm assing your feedback to the team 👍

I'm falling in love with Wrike in so many ways . . . . and then I bump into what seems like a completely intuitive issue like that and wonder how this isn't already a feature. I agree with Tyler. I just went to create a Tool focused on Publish Dates to have a publishing calendar. and production calendar. :(
This . . . and not being able to duplicate Customer Item Types from one Space to another is curious. Not complaining, just . . . scratching my head.
Hi Peter Ladka, thank you very much for your comment and for supporting this suggestion. We'll keep you informed in case there are any changes about it 👍
Adding in my vote for this as well. We are really needing to create a social calendar that looks at our custom field "Publish Date" and we aren't able to do this in the current Calendar.
Hi Michelle McMillen, thank you for sharing your use case with us. May I kindly ask you to confirm if what you are looking for is not achievable by adjusting the view filters?
Thank you!
Can we get this feature?
Hi Alex Turney, does what Juan has mentioned previously help at all? If not, can you share some more detail about what you're trying to achieve so we can help 👍

Have the same request as those above, I think.
To specify, this isn't a filtering issue for me at least. What I want to be able to do is make a calendar and have each project use one of my custom fields ('KO from sales') as a start date, and then another custom field ('ship date') as an end date to define it's length on the calendar. This allows the project to relate back to our primary workflow.
@... I am sorry to have missed your post. What Brandon Wood described above is exactly what I am looking for as well. We should be able to us a "Custom Date" field as a date on a calendar.
Thank you both for providing the additional detail here, folks! I'll share your feedback with our team.

Yes! I just got off a call with one of our staff who is looking for this exact some feature to show the posting date of videos on the calendar vs. due date, which is a custom date field.
Appreciate your feedback Kayla Upchurch, we'll send it on to the team 👍

Hi all, Also voting for this feature! we would like to be able to track campaign start and end date and not project start and due start in a calendar and haven't found a way to achieve this so far!
I would also like to request this very necessary feature!
Thank you for reaching out folks! Please don't forget to upvote the main post at the top of the page if you haven't yet, because that's how our Product team knows the idea is popular within the Community 🙂

Following up on this thread, this is a feature our team would very much like as well!

One more vote to add this feature! My team has regular tasks that have an internal first draft deadline before from the task's final due date, and it would make a huge difference to be able to view those first draft deadlines on their own calendar layer. Currently, we have to create an item for the deadline separate from the task, and use the deadline's first-draft-date as the task's final due date, which introduces a lot of clutter and room for human error.
I would also like to be able to use calendar view for custom date fields. I have upvoted the original post.

Our team NEEDS this so we have a single source of truth. Upvoting.
This is a feature that Monday.com has natively, is there anything being done to add this into Wrike? It may cause our team to switch platforms if not.
So sad to see this hasn't been added as a feature and has been actively requested for over 4 years. Putting in yet another upvote for this request...
@Wrike team, We've repeatedly followed the upvote instructions for 4-years. Your response has been the same for 4-years.
Where's the hand-holding/follow-through for the Wrike community? Let's make this happen!
