[Discussion] Change Management + Wrike

๐Ÿ“ฃย Calling all Wrike Championsย
ย
If you're onboarding your team to Wrike, then you're dealing with change management.ย Change management might actually be the reason you're on these forums right nowย ๐Ÿ˜ฑ. It is an industry term though(:cough: jargon :cough:), so let's take a quick second to say what it means...
ย
Change Managementย
ย
1 : Getting people to (successfully) move from one way of doing things to another. e.g. Moving from spreadsheets and emails to a project management tool.ย
ย
2 : An unexpectedly difficult task.ย
ย
The big question is: what are you doing to get your team onboard or what questions do you have for people who have already done it?
ย
If you haven't seen it our Customer Success teamย held a sessionย dedicated to how best to approach change management.ย Let us know what you think of their approach!

I realize that changing from one way of doing things to another requires buy in and commitment.

How do you garner buy in from employees who have deeply ingrained ways of doing things?

@Ansel Hi there! If the biggest obstacle is that they're used to doing things in a particular way,ย then one of the biggest things I've seen help is finding the areas that are a pain pointย for them and then showing how a new way of doing things could help solve for that pain. Showing how a transition would work can also go a long way in showing people that change is doable and potentially not as daunting as they thought it would be.ย

It can be really difficult to do though - have you already tried either of those options?

I see buy-inย as a need to implement a successful change management strategy. Company culture and top-down leadership are really the best ways. If you have convinced your leadership team to implementย a new tool and they are the last to use it then that is a lose/loseย strategy.ย

1. Hold a company meeting discussing the strategy.ย

2. Have smaller team meetings on using the product and how that will affect the team

3. Have your whole team work on this together in the same space to gain momentum. (You can't have team membersย getting all the way in and other doing none)

4. Have a follow-up meeting on progress

5. Run meetings / Discussions within Wrike.ย

Great advice David! You're right, getting people adapted to a new processor software can be a challenge, but by putting time aside to help people on

If you'd implemented something similar in your company, it would really great to hear a little what you included in your strategy ๐Ÿ‘
