[Not planned] Request form: Add selected follower on created task
Through a request form, now you can assign a task to a certain person depending on a dropdownbox. is it possible to also add an option to put a person on follow mode for the requested task according the selected dropdown (i.e. Departmenthead does not need to execute the task, bur for certain tasks he needs to stay informed. According to the selected department, the right department head is placed as follower)
Cool idea Jochen. I'm going to move this to our suggestions hub, Product Feedback section so other members can vote for it and our Product Team has better visibility too.
OK. Thx
Yes. We do have a couple projects where people from specific departments just need to stay in the loop. Right now we're fixing that by adding them in the project owner box and kicking them out again when the actual work begins. Which is a bit of a pain.
This is a pretty common need for us, as there are typically multiple stakeholders that need visibility into a task. It would be great if the requestor can add followers as part of a form field so we do not have to manually add the followers after the task is created.
Hey everybody, thank you for the feedback here. It's been passed on to the Product team.
Hi - just adding that this is also needed at our org: followers for specific tasks.
Hey Jennifer Kim, welcome to the Community! Thank you for adding your input.
Is this functionality available?
Hi Khody Azmoon! In requests, you can currently assign users, but not add them as followers. This idea has been passed on to the Product team; please upvote the above suggestion so that the team has a clear picture of its popularity? Thanks!

Adding Followers to a Form Task make so much sense...How many votes does this need before it get taken serious by the dev team ? Something we need to address with our success manager at Wrike to move it upstream ?

Hi everyone - Apologies, community newbie here. This would be a very useful enhancement for us as well. How can I "upvote" this suggestion - Do I simply click on the "heart" icon?' Thanks for any help you can provide (again, sorry for the newbie question).

Thanks Lisa!
Just added my upvote! This would be extremely beneficial!
My team has been adding everyone who needs to be aware of a project as a Project Owner in the request form, and then removing them once the project is created. It's a functional workaround, but it seems very silly that we need to go about it this way when using an enterprise-grade service that is as customizable as Wrike is.
Thank you for voting and sharing your use-case here Shawn Flanagan!

Yes please! We really need other options to be able to have users automatically Following a task rather than being Assignees.
Even an @mention from the Automation Bot doesn't work, for some reason it contradicts the usual rule of someone being @mentioned becoming a follower....
I've opened a ticket with Wrike Support for the latter, hopefully it will be changed.
Hi Soraya Jung, thank you for adding your support here. I see that our Support team has passed on your feedback to our Product team working on the Automation feature 👍🏼
Hi ! Has this option of followers to a request form has been enable? I have tried looking for this option and was not able to do it.
Welcome to the Community Denisse Viramontes 🙂
This isn't currently available; we process the feedback here and pass it on to our Product team. When this suggestion reaches the 60 votes threshold, we'll be adding a Product status here.
Please let me know if I can help you with anything else 👋

Lisa this is now at 61 upvotes. Would you ping the product team to share an initial update?
Hello Stephen Nelson, welcome to the Community 🙂 Thank you for your comment, I'm afraid that our Product Team could not prioritize this suggestion and it's not planned at the moment. I have updated the status of this post.
I understand this is not the news you were expecting to hear, but please rest assured that we will continue passing your feedback on to our Team and will let you know in case of any changes 👍
Thank you once again for participating in this thread and looking forward to seeing you in the Community more often 😁 If you have any additional questions, please let me know.
@... and everyone, something I learned recently from Nina with support... "Followers" on a folder/project will automatically follow new tasks created inside it. So I've set up folders for each request form. Then each request creates a new task inside its chosen folder and the followers are automatically applied. So the Marketing Analytics specialist automatically follows new Web Team requests. Doesn't give direct control based on form answers, but basically solves it for my need. Good luck out there!
Sorry for the pings, but if adding followers from a request form is still bugging you, hopefully the workaround helps! If you need multiple follower options for a single request form, you could possibly create a different folder (with different followers) and use a conditional to change where the task is created. Great Stephen Nelson, thank you very much for sharing this workaround with the Community! I'm sure many members will benefit from it 😁
