Automation to Populate a Lessons Learned Repository
Our team was interested in capturing items in our RAID (Risk, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) that qualified as lessons learned. To begin, we created a "Lessons Learned" folder where relevant RAID items could be cross-tagged. We then added a custom field called "Lesson Learned" and configured it as a checkbox. Finally, we created an automation to automatically copy the lesson learned information when the checkbox was checked. On a quarterly basis, our PMO meets with leadership to review the items in the "Lessons Learned" folder. Our ultimate goal is to develop comprehensive reports based on the data collected in this folder.

Mike Fank Thank you for your question! It will be the responsibility of the PM to determine that an item in their project RAID qualifies as a "lesson learned" and then check the "lessons learned" checkbox. During our quarterly meeting to review the lessons learned, the items will be discussed and collectively our PMO will determine the best way to incorporate them into our processes.
