I haven't used Wrike for personal usage as I feel it's work paid item.

I've used Wrike to manage a kitchen remodel, and a vacation!  

It also helps to use the Chrome To Do extension, because any time I am thinking about something I need to do, work and home related, i jot down a quick note so I don't forget!  

Don't use wrike for personal tasks

I've used it for time tracking for side projects before.

I do not use it. It is much to complicate for private stuff. An Excelsheet is enough.

It's still work related, but I thought I'd share that I built a task board and project board in my Personal space to help track my capacity, manage my backlog of requests and ideas, and visually see which projects I'm managing so I don't drop the ball on anything. I support Marketing, IT, and our product launch team, but I'm rarely assigned tasks, so that's why the custom board makes sense for me. If I do get something assigned to me I can just tag it to my Personal space so it shows up with the rest of my bigger focus tasks! Some of the tasks include training (others or myself), process improvements, cleanup efforts, etc. I don't track little stuff like setting up meetings, small action items, tweaking a blueprint, etc—just the bigger stuff.

It makes it easier to say "no" to something that pops up, or the ability to show a leader what I'm working on and ask what I should stop working on to make room for this new request. I use the "Done" column to share the big wins with my leader at my quarterly and annual check-in, that way I don't have to track them on a sheet like a used to. Hope this idea is helpful to someone else! :)

I did, and I would love to continue to do so, however also recently determined that I probably should not have and am now in the process of removing all "private" data from this Personal Space. Reason being, in the event an employee leaves a company, especially in circumstances of sudden departure where preparation time is not possible/given before losing access to the Wrike account, one's Personal Space in a work wrike account, including everything remaining inside it, is "transferable" into the "management" of another user as designated by the account owner, after which this designated user gains control of and access to anything there. After a brief chat with a Wrike helpdesk staff, I determined exporting/transferring data from Personal Space to a second new private account was not at all an easy process. Wrike's free account plan lacks import functionality - we discussed various options and determined that at minimum, I would need a Business Pro Plan account for import of all my private data/tasks/projects exported from my existing work Wrike account. As Wrike does not offer a premium-featured single-license paid plan, the monthly fee for a single person to use a business account is completely cost prohibitive.

I love Wrike and would VERY happily use it to manage my personal day-to-day, side projects etc etc, but after learning of the above, and without a premium-featured single-user paid plan, or pro plan with say 2-seat minimum rather than 5 (honestly the bare minimum features needed for any kind of useful functionality of a business pro plan), I will not be doing so. Sad Face!!

I use Wrike for my home todos.

In these days I have to change kitchen, so I've planned all little task to do every day.

I'm planning also to create a specific space for my two music group. We are 25 musicians and I hate to receive notification in Whatsapp, Google Calendar, Email, etc.

So I want to create a form for new date available, then automate request to all musicians, a task for each musician and they can tell if they can come or not.

So we have a specific insight. Then each musician that has responded yes will be insered in a new milestone task and he will receive all notification about organization of the event.

I don't use Wrike for personal project since it's provided by my work but I do find the personal space/dashboard helpful when organizing my personal work tasks.

In my personal space, I used Wrike to work through some vacation planning as I was learning how to use the software. Since then, not really as it is more of a work tool.

It is a great tool for my personal tasks, such as reminders for certain events or errands I will need to get done. Since I mainly work from home I just add these items right next to my personal tasks that need to get done for work.

I don't use Wrike for projects outside of work since it is paid for by work, but I do use my personal space to tag the reports I work on to one folder. I also use it to track tasks outside of our normal team work process (like tasks I complete to help out maintaining our Wrike account for others in our organization). 

I do not use Wrike for personal projects as this is a company paid for application.

I use Wrike for organising my work-related ideas. I used to use a journal for that, but I really prefer to have them in a dashboard 🤩 I'm also keeping a lot of links and recommendations, like books, TV shows, museums and places to visit, and a ton of other things. I've also used it for bigger personal projects a couple of times.

Angela Kennewell Thank you for sharing your experience! From my understanding, it is possible to delete your personal work completely (from the recycle bin) before losing access to your Wrike account. Also, I can see that our Support expert has shared a couple of tips with you on this. But in general, I agree one has to be mindful of the sensitive info available in a shared account 👍

I use our team space to track specific tasks for myself that are related to the team, but I use the Chrome extension to track personal to-do items. Plus, I believe those also get added to my Wrike Personal Space, if I'm not mistaken, so I can go back and look at finished items, dates, etc, which is nice. 

At the start of my current job my supervisor advised me to use Wrike for personal projects as the Personal folder was not visible to anyone else. However, seeing how the past employees data was easily accessible once their work Wrike account was removed, I decided against this practice.

To me, Wrike is a business project management software, not compatible with individual situations I face daily. I utilize other software for day-to-day personal tasks.

My approach is similar to Angela Kennewell.  I don't manage personal projects in my work account for privacy, security, and continuity should I leave my current company.  I have a Free Wrike Account but since you cannot just purchase 1 license for the additional features (calendar, custom fields, etc) I'm limited to how I can use it.  But yes, I do use Wrike to manage my personal life and volunteer roles - just from a Free account.

I haven't tried it yet. I do use the Chrome To Do list though.

Yes I use it for lots of personal tasks! I'm one of those people that if it's not written down I won't do it (too much to remember), but bits of paper don't work as I can't date it. I love that I can add a task for a date inthe future and forget about it. Only downside is I can't make it appear at a particular time of day - like Apple Reminders.

It's particularly useful for my role as Chair of Governors at a local school. But I use it for most things I have to remember

I use it for personal development goals. I keep track of webinars, videos, books, etc to show the progress I'm making towards an overarching career goal. It's easy to keep track of how much time I'm putting in, keeping track of notes/reflections on how this new information helped or if I have more questions, additional tasks of setting up meetings or asking team members about problems and development, and an overall timeframe to make sure I'm putting in the time to develop myself. It's an organizational tool as well as an accountability tool. It makes it easier for me to also look at this and show growth for quarterly reviews and performance reviews. Super helpful.

Wrike can be great to create person-to-do list, but its always risky in case we leave the company and our personal planning projects and plans are left behind in wrike!
