I second this request. It is very confusing when working internationally to use local dd/mm/yyyy or mm/dd/yyyy (which makes no sense anyway). Why not offer ISO standard date format. Please find a way to integrated this?
Follow up: Many people also use the format YYYMMDDhhmmss in a lot of filing systems. Having this ability would really help teams.

Working on an international team the date format has come up as a request to change multiple times. I've been given the request of couple times to see if Month dd, year (e.g. December 10, 2017), or a format that includes the month as a word instead of a number (dd-Dec-yyyy, etc.). Just as an option to avoid confusion completely as a date coming in from a request form might be misinterpreted.
Users in our international team would also like to see textual dates as default for the same reasons that Bailey mentioned.
Some views in Wrike already have textual formatting as the standard date format, but other views like the reports and gantt chart table don't seem to have that enabled. It would be great for us if there would be an option to apply textual formatting to all the dates viewed in Wrike.
I'm hoping that this can be put into the next release. This is a minor modification of existing settings that would support YYYY-MM-DD format in addition to YYYY/MM/DD.
