Custom Calendars

 

We are using wrike across our team who are based in US and UK. So we have different public holidays. Eg: 17 April is a holiday in UK but not in US. So when I enter it in the account calendar it affects all tasks. Would be good to be able to create custom calendars and have the ability to choose the right calendar for your project.

I am happy to be able to select a calendar according to the project.
However, it does not matter if you can not select a calendar according to the project.
If you can select holidays, attendance dates in bulk.
Now Wrike can set the holidays and working days one by one, but I want you to improve it because it is very troublesome.

Was self resolved.
We found that you can set additional attendances and holidays for the entire account with calendar account schedule.

Ram's point is important to us also because we are using Wrike for people in various countries.  However, we think that an ability to set calendars for a group of users is what is needed, rather than choosing a calendar for a particular project because projects are completed by people in various locations who have different work schedules.  So, for example, we would like to be able to set particular holidays for our "USA" group, set a different set of holidays for our "Germany" group, and have the appropriate working schedules applied based on who is assigned to the task.

As it is now, we cannot set up most holidays in our account calendar because they only apply to a subset of users.  We have to assign holidays on an individual basis, which is somewhat cumbersome.

Hi David, great idea. I can see how having calendars assigned to groups depending on their location could be helpful, considering people from multiple locations might be working on one project. This adds a lot of value to this discussion. Thanks!

Hi, in addition to the above, I would like to view calendars dependent on a group of people.  I currently use the screen to see who is on holiday over several months but I have to view one person at a time instead of being able to see a team all in one go

My team is a mix between regions. There are 3 public calendars to follow. Each member belongs to only one type of public holiday calendar.

Each month we need to know time utilization of the entire team. Therefore time log report is used together with the total work days. Since our team consists of 50+ people it will be great to be able to export the summary of all team members' calendars into one Excel sheet.

  • Please add the ability to define a calendar to a group of users instead of being able to limit to individuals.
  • The search field of the calendar should be a bit smarter, and allow filtering users, for example: userA & userB. or userA & userB & userC.

+1 to the idea of individualized calendars for groups.

Would also add to this the ability to change the values in the exception drop-down to help us manage the various PTO categories we have.

We have the same need to change the values in the drop down to manage various PTO categories.  Having dropdown choices that could be user definable and show up in different colors on calendars would be very helpful.  We would like to be able to select for each dropdown whether it causes scheduled tasks to shift out or not.

The ability to be able to set national holidays or company non working days that can be applied to different sets of people (groups are already set up within Wrike), would be very beneficial for our team as well.

The Admin ability to be able to set non-working days for staff is currently done, and would also like to add their stat holidays as a default. We cannot to do as a full team adjustment as some of our team members work in different countries and have different holidays. It would be also beneficial to add "stat holiday" to the drop down list of why it may be a non-working day that shows up.

We would like to customize the calendar format as well.

  • Export capabilities for printing/emailing/sharing
  • Yearly calendar view

Here is an example of the yearly calendar we use that would be helpful if Wrike produced something similar.

My team would love to be able to build project specific calendars.  This will allow capturing country specific holidays based on that project's member make up and allow for tracking for individual vacations impacting that particular project.  This feature would have to be available at the Regular User level not confined to only the few admins.

Coming up on the holidays.  Would be nice to blank that out in the schedule automatically (like the feature in a well-known desktop project scheduling tool).

@Andrea Hi, sorry for the long reply. Currently, you can't create custom calendars at the project level, but I wonder if Workload Charts can help in this situation? Workload Charts help manage your team members’ workload capacity, plan work allocation, and prioritize tasks based on their capacity. Please let me know what you think, I'll be happy to discuss 🙂

This is a feature that we are eager for as well. We require our team members to post their PTO on the shared calendar and it would be very useful to view the list of out of office dates for a particular group in order to confirm or deny time-off requests, plan around resource shortages, etc. Based on this thread and others I've read, this has been a request as far back as 2017. How much longer till it is added to the roadmap? Thanks!

I was wondering - could Wrike's Calendar feature help? Users can create tasks in the folder on which one of the Calendar layers is based and you'll have a layer showing who's on PTO or has a bank holiday. Please let me know what you think!

I still think we need to be able to hard code public holidays by region/space. The Calendar only makes them visible, but does not help with scheduling around those days off, nor with utilization calculations. Many other tools offer this option so it's time to catch up, Wrike!!!

Hello! My team and I am new to Wrike and am wondering how we could implement the event itself into a calendar? We have events as our own space and numerous pre and post event tasks. We just want to see about having a calendar that only shows show/event dates.

How about creating a new calendar layer with and adding events as tasks in a specific folder that links to that layer? You can schedule the task with the same date(s) of the events.
