When adding a widget to the dashboard (or if already added, you can edit it), in the left column there is a Sort By option. One of the options is to sort by date.  Does this work for you?

I'm glad it was helpful! I'm not sure about that. I assume that it would count all days, regardless of it they are weekends/holidays/days off. There might be a way to add to the formula to exclude ...

No worries. The screenshots helped. Yeah, that feature (ability to switch statuses) would be useful! Wonder if there's a reason why it is not there anymore.

Sounds like you're trying to change a task's status from the table view - is that correct? Yeah, that is odd that the option to switch workflows is not there.
