auto-assign the task from a submitted request form to the Wrike user who submitted the request form

Wondering if there is a way in the Request Form feature to assign the task or project that is created when the form is submitted, to the actual internal Wrike user who submitted the form?

our internal users will be submitting these forms and subsequently will be following up on the action items of the forms they submit. so it would be great if there was a way to assign it to the requester automatically.

We wanted the same thing so we created a drop down menu with the staffs name and then selected to add assignee when the staff is selected and choose the staff that matches the drop down option. Make it a mandatory question and this should fix your problem. I have not yet found an automatic option from Wrike on this, so this is our work around.
Hope this helps.

thanks Ryan, yes this does help as a workaround due to Wrike's current limitations

In request forms. I see the ability to add project owner but not add assignee even when creating a dropdown.  Is this feature version specific?

Its in the body of the form, not on the right side. Choose the Add action, it let's you add assignee:

I am surprised there is not a way to 'assign to the creator'

A workaround is possible if you have Wrike Integrate.

I posted a community recipe at https://www.workato.com/recipes/1088366 that demonstrates a way to automatically assign new tasks to the task creator.

This example recipe requires a Wrike custom field to distinguish between new and updated tasks, so this approach requires either Wrike Business or Wrike Enterprise, in addition to Wrike Integrate.

An alternative approach using Wrike Integrate that doesn't require custom fields (great idea suggested by Serhiy Krypak at https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360037787073) would be to tag the task to a specific folder instead of using a custom field, and loop through the parent folders looking for that known folder in order to determine whether the task is new or has already been processed.

Laura Boylan another workaround without wrike integrate:

if you have Approvals enabled in your account you can create a workflow with a custom status where "Add task creator as approver" is enabled and force this status in a request from. It would not make him an assignee but he would be informed at least.

Another good idea, Serhiy Krypak. While the Wrike Integrate solution is better for our needs since we use approvals in other ways, I know many users don't have Wrike Integrate, so this is a nice tip to keep in the toolbox.
