How to create new top-level Folder/area?

It looks like this changed when Wrike introduced the Spaces piece. You used to have a team name, that was generally your company name where newly created top-level folders were placed. Now it seems like any new folder created, when not on an existing folder, creates the new folder in your "Personal" Space. Are you finding the same thing?

To move this to a top level folder you need to remove the folder tag. For example, I created a folder called 001, which ended up in my "Personal" Spaces folder. The following steps would be the same if the newly created folder existed in another folder. 

Once created, click on the newly created folder. 

In the top left-hand corner of the folder window, you will want to select the Folder info icon.

A new window will then open to the left where you can find the folder tags. Hover over the folder tag that is there and an "x" will appear. Click on the "x" and you should find that the folder now appears in your folder structure on the left.

Once there you should be able to drop and drag any of your existing folders and projects into this newly created top level folder.

This is a few more steps then what it used to be, but it is what I found is the only thing that works. Hopefully, someone else has an easier way of doing it. In the meantime, you can start your undertaking of restructuring.

Me too! Seems like as an admin we should be able to still see our top level "Team Named" folder.😕

@Susanne, I cannot speak for Wrike but with the update that included Spaces, it adds a whole new level to collaboration. Now folders should exist in a teams "Space" as opposed to the folder structure. It is a different way of thinking about your companies workspace. You can folder tag multiple spaces for a folder or project, and if you are shared a folder but not shared the space it lives in then it would exist in a folder structure for you.

I am also confused on the space and folder distinctions.

I am new to Wrike and have a small business start-up.

I want to implement Wrike as a project management tool because I am working on so many projects and revenue streams at the same time with others involved in the work.

I followed the start up video and used spaces, but I now want to move some of my spaces into folders under the main company's projects.  

I guess I'm confused about why I can't create a sub-ordinate space under master spaces.  This is especially helpful since I have three different companies that have different teams and different objectives.

Is there anyone that can help me with this?

welcome to our community. You have to think about Spaces as the principal element of Wrike.
You can use them to separate Wrike into different groups (like departments in your company or other groups you need).
For example I use spaces to separate:
- Working on Projects
- Completed Projects
But for other customers I separate Wrike into departments:
- Sales
- Administrative
- Marketing
- Dev Ops

 Regarding your question "why I can't create a sub-ordinate space under master spaces" because Master Space is your account.
If you need to manage 3 different companies use 3 different spaces and if you need for each company separated spaces create different space like:
- Company A
- Company B - Marketing
- Company B - Devs
- Company B - Sales
- Company C - Marketing
- Company C - Administration
- Company C - Sales

If you don't have need to separate Wrike into different groups just name your space as "General" and use folders inside.
