[Status: Not Planned] Threaded Conversation
Just like Slack and many other messaging platforms, Wrike needs a "threaded" conversation ability.
This is key so as not to clutter the main page with such discussion as well as to organize discussions about different aspects of the SAME issue within a single ticket.
Hi, yes, tools such as Asana, Hive, Teamwork, and ClickUp have the ability to have a comment that is outside a task and broadcasted to the general team. Very useful, in fact as I move along with Wrike I'm finding this one of the biggest things lacking.
Wrike has really nicely built out commenting streams, it would be enough to be able to place these comments in a space or project, but add the ability for a separate subject line like Email, and you'd achieve this functionality. If you could resolve as well, that would be a further bonus.
Another benefit would be you could label these as "project updates" in projects. Again, you'd wind up with a feature superior to Asana, which has this update capability, a differentiator vs. Wrike, but Asana has far inferior Project management. All Wrike needs is the update/threaded conversation and I think at that point there would be nothing in Asana, or some of these other tools, that would be better with Projects. In my view, Wrike's projects are the best in every other aspect!
Thanks!
Hey guys, I really like this idea! This has been passed on to the Product team.
I recently asked about a similar update to Wrike.
Our team uses tasks for external communication with our supply partners and we need thread/topic based commenting capability v. stream based commenting capability to help us to keep multiple "conversations" organized within one task.
If you have seen the Thread based commenting with rich text formatting capability in Microsoft Teams/Channels - that would be an ideal improvement to the current commenting sections of tasks.
Hey Stephanie Luttrell, thank you for this use case! It's been passed on to the Product team.
This would be a nice feature to add to Wrike.
Hi Richard Sanchez, welcome to the Community! Your feedback has been passed on to the team.
Hi, great that that the idea was passed on to the product team. What's the implementation deadline?
Hi Natalia Blokhina, welcome to the Community! 🙂
We don't yet know whether or not this will be implemented in the product. Please check out this article to learn how our Product Feedback forum works. Any updates from the Product team, we'll let you know!

Would really like to see this implemented.
This is very similar to these two, in which in particular Daniel 🚀 Lipschitz makes great points in each (one is his own suggestion).

I'm not sure why this one, which you guys did give a status without the 60 votes you require.

I hope the "Product Team" is weighing this request with all the true support it has across these three similar requests.
It's not 100% clear to me as I read this again if Ahmed Bahar intended this post to be in reference to a separate "chat" capability outside tasks, like in Asana, or the ability to thread existing comments, per the posts I quoted. Both would be great. Bottom line is we need some ability to communicate within Wrike in Threads somewhere. Especially in this age of Remote Working, chats have taken on particular importance and their degree of implementation in a Work Mgmt tool is paramount!
Thank you for showing your support for this suggestion Al Sape! I've checked with the team to see if they are planning to work on introducing threads in Stream, and for now, they don't have such plans. I'll let you know if there's any news on the topic in the future.

Would love to see this happen.
Thank you for chiming in here Lyra Helms👍🏼
Oh my gosh, yes, this would save so much time hunting for responses from light wrike users on our team, and it would save us from redoing work because we didn't see a comment they put in a strange place!

Can the Wrike team aggregate all of these similar requests for comment threading? This is a major pain point for our team. Also - wondering if the community has implemented any 'workarounds' to address this challenge?

Rohan V Hi there! Is there anything on the 2025 roadmap for threaded comment functionality? This continues to be a major point of contention across our team as we often need to converse with different product, engineering, and sometimes user teams within the same task conversation and it gets quite confusing / difficult to sort through.
Hi Sam Poelstra, thank you for reaching out, and welcome to the Forums! As of now, there haven't been any new updates from our team regarding this suggestion. We will keep you in the loop if there are any developments 👍

Rohan V Currently, the wrike commenting system on a tasks makes it extremely hard to follow. Commenting on someone's comment should indicate that just below the comment and not below the entire thread. This makes it impossible to comment on specific items and follow what someone is talking about. I'm actually really surprised that this hasn't been resolved in such a long period of time. Seems like it would be a basic, common sense feature.....
I should also mention, this alone should be reason enough to just not use Wrike. The confusion just causes way too much time loss.
Thank you, Jonas Flint, for clearly explaining the issue and sharing your detailed feedback. I’m sorry to hear that this has been hindering your work. I will check with the relevant team, and if there are any updates, I’ll be sure to post them here.
