We've been playing around with them internally and they may or may not have overtaken Dashboards as my favorite feature!

You can findย outย how to create Calendars on the Help Center butย below I've shared some examples to get you thinking about how you can get theย mostย from them.ย Our team has beenย thinking of some Calendar ideas and we're excited to hear the types of Calendars you're creating so please comment below!ย

Team Calendar(s)
This Calendar is for you if: your team works out of the same Folders/Projects and you want to increase visibility around what is being worked on. If your team has multiple areas that they're responsible for, it is worth creatingย separateย Calendarsย for each area of responsibilityย so you can choose to view each area together or separately.ย
ย
Use this Calendar to: see what tasks your team has completed, monitor what work is upcoming, schedule tasks so that one day/week isn't too overloaded.ย

Create a new Calendar and apply the following settings:
ย
- Calendar type: Smartย
- Calendar name: [Team Name]
- Include tasks from: the Folder(s)/Project(s) where your team's tasks are located.ย
- Filtersย
- Status: Active and Completedย
- Assignee: Specify team members if you frequently have tasks in this Folder which are assigned to people who aren't on your immediate team (and if you don't want to see those tasks).
- Task Type: Check milestone if all of your release tasks are milestones.
- Task Duration to display: Full duration (this will let you better monitor workload and when things are going to be worked on).ย
This is a teamย Calendar, so don't forget toย share it.ย

Personal Calendar

This Calendar is for you if: you have tasks assigned to you across different Folders/Projects, you want to be able to track (or remember) certain tasks, filters don't help narrow down the tasks you want to track.ย

Use this Calendar to: keep an eye on certain tasks you need to complete or which you are involved with on some level and want to monitor.ย
ย
Create a new Calendar and apply the following settings:

- Calendar type: Classic
- Calendar name: Tasks to Monitor (feel free to mix-it-up).
- Task Duration to display: Use "full duration" if you want to see when something is scheduled for or "end date" if you only want to see when something is due.

Now, startย adding tasks to your Calendar.ย

Release orย Eventย Calendarย

This Calendar is for you if: tasks forย releases/eventsย are in the same Folder/Project.ย
ย
Use this Calendar to: see whatย is planned and when it's planned for. Also use it to lookย back at what items have been completed or released.

Create a new Calendar and apply the following settings:

- Calendar type: Smartย
- Calendar name: Release/Eventย Calendar (this is just a suggestion folks).
- Include tasks from the Folder/Project where your release/eventย tasks are stored (check "Include tasks from Subfolders" if release tasks also live in Subfolders).
- Filtersย
- Status: Active and Completedย
- Task Type: Check milestone if all of your release/eventsย tasks are milestones.
- Task Duration to display: End date (this should be the date that the feature is actually released).ย

At the moment Calendars do not contain description fields. I would recommend making a post in the Product Feedback forum and suggesting this as a possible new feature. Our Product Team will give you an update once the post reaches 60 upvotes.

My team uses Calendars to view tasks based on the person it gets assigned to.ย Sometimes it groups all the persons tasks together, and other times it separates them.ย As you can see in the attached the 2 orange ones are assigned to the same person, yet a different task assigned to someone else is between the 2 oranges ones.ย ย
Why is this?? Is there a way to fix this??

The tasks are listed in the order that they were created in, not by who they are assigned to. If you think there should be an option to group Calendar events by assignee, I'd recommend making a post in our Product Feedback forum! Once this post reaches 60 upvotes, our Product Team will be able to provide you with a status update on this suggestion.

ย Wanted to reiterate the need to be able to view the parent folder/project on the calendar view, not just when you hover. All of our users are assigned the same type of tasks: Designers get "Design Layout" tasks, "Draft Copy" tasks for our copywriters, "Pack + Release" for our production designers, etc.ย

If you could elect to view the parent folder/project on the calendar the same way you can view it on the dashboards, it'd be HUGELY helpful!
